this one started life as a new Twin Force a few days ago.it's almost done and so far so good. some of the mods include narrowed axles with centered diffs and tranny, 106 oz in torque metal gear BB steering servo, custom made motor mount plate and suspension links and 2.2 wheels and tires.

Before...

After...

now I need a set of the short dogbones and another drive joint like the rear one (no one way bearing) and to assemble the special battery packs and mounts for them. I am only running 1 motor and I am making two 4 cell packs (one going low in the chassis in the front and one mounted the same way in the rear). and I also am going to make my suspension links out of 1/4" .065 wall 304 stainless steel tubing and run the threaded rod thru the center of them. (adds a bit of bottom weight and also they will NEVER bend). judging from the weight so far it feels fairly balanced.

hmm, id rearange your shocks and linkage so you can get more articulation, even if your trying to be scale, ive seen scale trucks with more articulation...just my 2 cents

how much flex do you guys expect it to have anyways? the tires already go through the fenders!!! the only way to get any more flex is to raise it up, then it looks rediculous. this is the standard Twin Force tire. look closely, all 4 tires are planted on something and they are into the fenders as well. also the stock Twin Force wheel and tire isn't small.

and vitamin if you can't tell from those pics that the stock 2 link is long gone then you have issues.

Hey.. I think it looks very good. What drive shafts are you going to use. And what size of rod ends are those ? I want to use Revo drive shafts but don't know how to put them on Twin Force axles . LOL I guess I will when I get it here.

I'm using the standard dog bones (unless they give me crap but I don't think they will with the travel I'm moving em) and the rod ends are traxxas, I like them because they use a bolt to hold them on and this make it harder for them to pop off accidently. glad you guys like it. there will be some cool videos soon...even some w onboard cam views.

^^Move the top of the shocks farther out from the center of the chassis, that will give you better articulation

looks great i think it is awesome flex for a scale looker and i want to point out the tires are like scale 44s or 38s so thats not bad for a scale jeep if he were to trim the flares and the wheel wells it would be nice and a bit more realistic for a true crawler

No one will answer my thread out on the forum, so I'll ask you, I take it that no one makes 2'2s with a 14mm hex ? About how much will the shop charge you for the adapters ? And I take it you only short'n one side of the axle right, I want mine a little shorter than that so I will have a hard time getting shafts for them then. And what size gear are you using ? I will have a GD-600 with 12T pinion gear on the motor for a ratio of 3.8 - 1 with a 12T pinion off of that so it will be geared pretty low I hope. Let me know how fast yours goes when you get it up and running.

the owner of the machine shop is a close friend so they are costing me nothing. sorry I couldn't provide a figure, but machine shop labor is usually around $40-$60 an hour depending on the machine being used. and as far as the GD600, I just got one from the hobbyshop for my crawler and its not exactly going to be a bolt in affair. you must first drill out the motor mount in the twin because the GD600 has a bigger bearing in the front than a 550 motor. then you must make new motor mounting screw holes and also drill your pinion that is going on the output shaft o
