This is for Mike at Hitec.....
I have not gotten any replies yet from the regular forum. I copied and pasted the original question here...... Hello, I have one Hitec 605BB in a GP Spacewalker ARF. The rest are Hitec 425 BB servos. My next project may be a slightly larger plane. My Question....... What is the difference between the 605BB and the 545BB (5 pole)? The 605 seems to have more torque listed. The price is about the same. The only difference I can see is the 545 is a 5 pole and it has a little less torque. Can anyone explain, (in not "too technical" terms.. ), what being a 5 pole means and why is this important? I read somewhere the 605 BB has "centering problems". I have not noticed that on the one 605 I have. The plane I build will NOT be a slick, fast, aerobatic type. More the like a FlyBaby etc. 10 to 12 lb. plane.... 80" to 90" span and a 150 Saito for power.
What servos would you use? (Staying in the approximate price range of the 605's and 545BB)
Thanks, .... lownslo....

Bob

The 5 pole motor servos have better resolution and centering than a 3 pole motor servos due to the two additional steps per rotation.

The 545 is my favorite sport servo however, it and the 605 are marginal for that size plane. I would recommend the 645MG.

Mike.
