I just set up a U can DO 46 with a Hitec Ditigal Servo on the rudder, a 5925 MG. When I range check the plane the Rudder Servo starts to jitter at about 60 feet away and the rest of the plane is fine, I changed recievers and even tried a diffrent radio and I just cant find any thing wrong, ever heard of this?

Is your rudder servo connected to any kind of extension?

In all fairness let me say yes I have an 12 inch extension from the servro lead to the reciever, also I have a futaba dual axis gyro on the elevator and rudder. My problem still presist with the gyro turned off. This is my first experience with a digital servo, it does things like hum and buzz while its sitting still but works fine.

The hum is normal for digital servos. I would try a heavy duty extension on the servo if the one on there is not. Also try putting a couple of twists in the servo lead and make sure it is not running too close to the gyro.

Brendon, thanks for the advice. I will try a heavy duty extension and put a few twist in it as well, as far as the other wires they are put in a good place and the antenna wire is in a tube away from wires and moving parts as well. In the back of my mind something told me that it should be a simple fix but I guess some times a guy needs a little help. Once again thank you

I would also consider disconnecting and powering down the gyro if the extension does not do the job to eliminate it as a trouble maker.

You might also consider cycling the servo connectors several times...

Hi Brendon, I twisted up the servo extensions and I still have the Jitter. I also made a test stand to simulate the set up I have and included the gyro but I used Hitec 425 servos and with the same 9 CAP radio I was able to range check in excess of 165 feet with no servo jitters and the gyro works just like its suposed to

I took the extensions off the rudder 5925 MG and both 925MG elevator servos and opened a new Hitec switch Select 8 CH reciever and tryed it on the seros still in the plane and I still have the jittering past 35 or 40 feet of range. I did not plug in the the throdle or aleron servos snd the reciever was on the outside of the plane with no other wires or controal rods near the reciever and still have the jittering

I used another computer radio with the same results. I took the servos out of the plane and put everything on a stand and I still have the jitters but not quite as bad. On the stand the three Servos were disconected one by one and didnt stop the movement untill all three were disconected. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE 2 425 SERVOS THAT I USED TO SIMULATE THE ALERONS JITTERED TO IN THE SAME WAY AND DIDNT STOP TILL THE THREE SERVOS IN QUESTION WERE DISCONECTED. There is something going on here that dont make sence or is the answer right in front of me. Do you think going from 4.8volts to 6 volts will help, I'm using a 1650 NI-Mh now........HELP!

I dont think using a 6 volt battery is going to help but if you have one there is wouldent hurt to try it. Is it still just the rudder servo that jitters at range or have other surfaces started to do this was well? Does the jittering follow the servo or the channel? Try the rudder servo in a different channel to see if it still jitters. If it is following the servo, send me the servo and I will replace it for you.

[ The jitters are gone. While pluging the servos in to the reciever in diffrent slots and checking each chanel I noticed that when I stood close to the test stand I got more movement. I then turned on the radio and walked away and looked at the set up with binoculars and still had a little jitter. In flusteration I cleared out my radio programing and went back to default settings. My problem went away, I still dont know what I had in my set up that was causing my problems but it is gone now. I have set my radio up again and everything is fine, the plane range checks up to about 90 feet till I get any reaction at all and after that I get a little servo flutter but not anything crazy.
Thanks to all who gave me input and thanks for the info on digital servos. STEVE B
