I tried emailing service@hitecrcd.com but got no reply so I figured I'd post here...

I've got an HS5925 servo here (one of four I bought about 9 months ago) and it's gone bad.

It appears that the motor is dragging its field windings on the core because it now runs slow and, whereas the three other 5925s in this plane move *very* freely with power off (as did this one), the faulty one is so stiff that you can't turn it by hand with the power off.

The plane it's in has never been crashed and it's only done about 60 flights in total.

The servo was bought in the USA (from Servo City) and I want to return it to HitecRCD (as the original distributor) for warranty repairs.

I realize that, being based in NZ, I don't meet the odd criteria listed on the HitecRCD website but since it was effectively a product that HitecRCD sold (through Servo City) I would expect that you'll happily honor the warranty -- since I am prepared to pay the cost of airmail return postage to NZ if necessary.

A friend of mine (who also buys his stuff from US retailers) just sent his *expensive* Futaba hi-speed helicopter servo back to Futaba's US service center where they fixed it under warranty *and* returned it to him in New Zealand by airmail (at their cost) -- all free of charge.

How does Hitec USA's support compare and can I get my faulty servo fixed and returned under warranty?

I've got a couple of thousand dollars worth of Hitec stuff now and this is the first time I've had to claim a warranty repair.

And don't suggest that I take it to the local (New Zealand) Hitec dealer/distributor for repair -- they didn't make a penny out of this servo (unlike Hitec USA) so they're not going to be the least bit interested in repairing it under warranty.
