Is this normal for the #35, when I turn the mainblades with my hand, the mainblades only go clockwise( can't turn counter clockwise), and the maingear doesn't turn?

Main blades should turn freely one way, and the other should drive the main gear and tail, if yours is binding, try removing the motor and turning again, if it moves freely then slacken the motor off away from the main gear (but to to much, should messh well, but not to tight) if not then check the tail gears arent binding

To adjust the flybar there are two grub screws to slacken the bar, use a pair of verniers or such to measure each end and check it is centered, if you mean adjust the fly bar to mean adjust the tracking of the blades then you adjust the links attached to the flybar itself.

On the metal collar that the paddle is attached, there is an allen key grub screw, if you slacken that off you should be able to turn the paddles to horizontal and re-tighten the collar

i found out that the flybar paddle is screwed onto the metal collar. I found that after removing the allen set screws from the metal collar it was very difficult to remove the metal collar from the flybar. during the process of trying to twist the paddle and collar to remove the assembly from the flybar, the paddle started to unscrew from the collar.

The flypaddle is very hard to remove from the metal collar. Are they glued together? And the metal collar is very difficult to remove from the flybar even after loosening the allen screw. It seemed they glued the metal collar to the flybar. How did you exactly take the flypaddle off?

On tracking, I tried to adjust the link (loosen the link) on the RED blade, and the RED blade is always on top of the Blue blade. I also adjusted the link on the Blue blade(tighten the link), and the Blue blade is always below the REd blade. I can't set the tracking perfect.

Please help...

remove the plactic paddle, then gently heat the collar with a soldering iron (not to long), then using two pairs of pliers, one hold the collar, the other hold the flybar close to the collar and 'gently' twist them apart, but be carefull not to twist the metal of the fly bar or distort it. Failing that, just use locktite to lock the paddle a 1/4 turn (or whatever) to set it straight.

Bhermer,

Have you replaced all of the original radio equipment? I am experiencing a lot of glitches. Sometime the receiver would cut out and causing the motor to trun on with no controls to servos. As a result, my heli crashed into me and both sustained damages. I had just trimmed the heli perfectly.

I elected to replace the radio. Nothing I did got rid of the glitches and the one that really worried me was the glitch that made the motor speed up unexpectedly....no servo involved in that little move.

Hello,
I picked up one these heli's a week or two ago, but cannot get it to lift off. I had an Xcell 40 about 10 years ago or more, but this is my first electric heli. I fly fixed wing 3D indoors mostly, but wanted to expand the envelope. I loosened up the gear mesh and shortened the links to the flybar as per this thread but to no avail. It gets light on the skids at about 3/4 throttle, but if I increase the throttle the head speed begins to slow down like it is overamping the motor or batteries. I tried the stock battery, which is a 9 cell nimh 600 mah, and a 3s lipo 1200, with the same results. Any ideas, as I am stumped? I am considering picking up an Align brushless motor and speed control from my LHS, but since the brushed speed control is built into the receiver, how would I hook it up and would this work? The LHS sells the brushless set up for the T Rex. Any help would be appreciated.

I would not go for brushless just yet as you may have a problem and the brushless will probably turn it into hot scrap for you!! The standard battery is never going to lift it, so throw that away!! The LiPo should get it in the air, for maybe 5 minutes or so.

What pitch curve are you running at? I would suggets you unlock the pitch curve controls (jumper 8 on the TX) and move the left dial down to 3/8ths, try liftting (the head speed should really be up now) if you get lift great, but it not throttle donw, move the left dial on notch clockwise and try again, somewhere in there is a mix that will get the head speed up and the pitch right, just keep playing!

If you do decide to go brushless after you have your lift prob sorted, the brushless ESC plugs into channel three of the RX (you will lose idle up mode though cos the Walkera rx does that for some reason!??!?)

Thanks bhermer,
I tried that and by reducing the pitch and increasing the range? (rt. knob), it will now lift off at about 2/3 throttle with the lipos. Should I keep adjusting or is this about right? It's been a while but it seems my glow heli hovered at about 1/2 throttle.
Thanks,
