Do not replace with original
Get a Hitec servo

I appreciate the advice to get a Hitec servo. Do they have the same mounting holes and connector as the originals?
For the collective, which one; HS-50? HS-56?

I use 2 HS 55 and one HS50 for the tail
On collective I still have stock ... as I dont really use it ...

Mounting holes are no Prob I believe ...the tail servo belongs on the Tail boom anyway so you make it fit
...
Happy flying

I don't understand, how do you fly without using the collective?

I believe he means that it's not used as much as the for/aft, left/right cyclic servos. GWS pico servo works fine for the collective pitch, and the HS55 by Hitec should have identical mounting holes

Contact303,

So, what is the verdict with the brushless setup? did it solve the problem with receiver cutting out? How is the flight performance with this new setup?

Hi Guys,

Finally got my Z400 yesterday and after checking everything was complete n tight n looked in one piece I just had to back the car outta the garage and turn it over to see what would happen.

My Z400 included the Walkera brushless + contoller + carbon fiber blade (not on yet).

Now I'm a pretty new to this whole hobbie/sport and have had a CH4 Dragonfly for 3 odd weeks n got bitten by the heli bug!

Have read some horror stories and thought well lets turn it on n see what happens.

This is straight outta the box, only thing I have done is add battery (how do you mount that?) and straighten blades out.

It basically shocked me by winding up smooth and poppin into a smooth!!!! hover about 6" off ground!

To be honest at this stage I am shocked! ... I didnt even need to adjust trim nothing!

I spend about 15 odd min's flyin at 6 - 12" off the ground testing controls etc before calling it a night!

My CH4 neva hovered like this! ... man it even sounds fantastic.

I have some question thou please, help needed.

When everyone talks about setting up pitch? is that just dialed in on the controller or do I get a pitch guage and adjust what??????

The only glitch I have is when I landed n shut down quickly when close to the walls etc upon moving back to the middle of the floor I have not Throttle?????? moved it up n down a few times n it would work again ... weird ... upon reading comments here I think my battery is a bit flat as I only charge for 60 min's so it certainly was not fully charged. I also a couple of times unplugged batt n then plugged it back in and it would reset!

So yeh advise on the whole pitch thing if you don't mind as Im a little confused with that, and how to mount the battery please! but after last night I am pretty impressed todate, My CH4 never hovered straight out of the box!

Cheers

Muz

BE CAREFULL your gltich sounds like mine all fine and harmless untill it gets you in flight
I believe its the load you put on the heli
If it gets to high the BEC 'Protects ' the motor and cuts ...
exactly what I have
this happens in flight your Buggered and the heli will crash

I don't think so. Mine does the same thing. After running several times it will refuse to start. Turning things on and off seems to eventually help. I think its the ESC because a voltmeter says the ESC is getting battery voltage but not passing it to the motor.
I may try another ESC to see if it helps.

Yes, I have the Walkera Dragonfly 35, Brushless w carbon blades. I think the problem is with the brushless motor controller, not with either the transmitter or the receiver because the servos seem to be working properly. The problem is intermittent, it may be related to temperature.
