Are the crystals in both tx and rx securely plugged in?

Yes, I have tried removing them and re-seating them in both the TX and RX units as well as double checked the wires for any loose connections. I am looking to purchase a Futaba 7C which will come with a receiver, I will be interested in seeing if it fixes the issue. In regards to the servos would you recommend going ahead and upgrading them as well? I have read several post and it seems the electronics in these units are not the best.

Thanks,
Chris

I'm sure replaceing the radio system will solve the problem. sounds like the rx or possibly tx may have failed. if the servos still jitter when you switch out the tx/rx, then i would replace them. I bought the 9 gram servos from allerc.com and have had no problems with them. A lot of ppl recommend the hitec 55 servos. they are about $17/pcs.

this is kind of sad... My brother is buying helis like crazy and is giving me an x-400 and a t-rex if I build and set up a couple of the same for him. I can't pass up a deal like that but it means I need to sell my faithful 35, my squirrly 22a. my second number 4 and my first (parts) number 4. sigh. the number 4 and the 35 have been really great to get started with.

I appreciate your help, I plan to purchase these items and see what happens.

Thanks,

hey cptsnoopy! i know what you mean about giving up your first helis. I've had my 35 since may..figure i've got well over 150 hours on it. I have been flying a 30 size nitro (JR venture) for about a month and really like the stability and ability to get flight after flight without having to wait for batterys to charge. my 35 still gets more airtime as i fly it around the outside of the house almost daily. it's great for keeping in practice and trying new stuff. it's held up very well but the head is starting to wearout..getting a lot of slop. not sure wether i'll replace the parts or go with a new mx400. hate to retire the walkera as it's been a great first heli. the trex is too big for my batterys and brushless motor. I won't dispute the fact that the trex quality is top shelf but if you build a trex, let me know if it flys a whole lot smoother than the 35/shogun or is it mostly hype.

Hi hueyman!,

I hope to have an x-400 and a t-rex flying within the month. I will let you know what they are like compared to the 35. I also have a 3dx-400 which I think is the same as a 36. I will most likely have that up and running in a week or so...

Hi, i have a walkera #35, & i need to know the correct pitch for the flybar paddles. & how do i adjust servo travel,my roll -axis servo
rotates more to one side than other. One more question what is duel rates, the owners manual is really bad.

thank you.

Ok, from my previous post you know I am a newbie to helis so here is another question. I had determined the receiver that came with my #35 was bad so I purchased a new receiver and transmitter. Both are Futaba brand the receiver came with the 7CHP transmitter. I also replaced the servos with Hitec-55's and have them installed but my question is how do I connect the motor. I have the standard brush motor that came with my heli but the Walkera receiver had a plug for it and the new receiver does not. Do I have to purchase a speed controller for this or can I actually purchase a cable that will allow me to connect the motor to the receiver? Sorry for such a question but like I said, I am new to the heli world.

Thanks,
Chris

you need a seperate motor controller (ESC) that connects to the battery/receiver and motor. the walkera ESC was built into the receiver. a brushed 25 - 30 amp ESC cost around $20.

5810, the flybar paddle pitch should be 0deg. - flat. if your using the walkera electronics, make sure the trims are centered before checking servo travel in both directions. there is no adjustment on the walkera radio if you have uneven servo throw. if you mean the servo arm is not centering, then you need to remove it from the servo and place it on the shaft teeth as close to center as possible with the sticks in nuetral position. dual rates are not available on the walkera transmitter. the feature allows you to reduce maximum servo throw to stick travel. helps prevent overcontrolling the aircraft. dual rates are generally turned on/off by individual switches for each servo or one switch for all servos or a combination, depending on the transmitter. Cheap dual rates = you can increase/decrease control travel by relocating the control rods to different holes in the servo arms.

Does any one ever made a mod on the TX ?
I would like to have less servo travel or to be able to sort of having only 50% servo travel with 100% stick travel.

I know there's a lot of you guys who know what to do, so just post.

Thank you all for sharing

if you do not have a radio with dual rate capability, you can reduce control surface travel by connecting the control rods to the holes in the servo arms that are closer to the servo shaft and/or connecting the other end of the rod to the holes in the bellcrank that are closest to the end of the bellcrank arm. it may sound a bit confusing but study the servo arm travel and you will realize the effect of positioning the control rods further in or out on the arm.
to show they can fly nicely, a link to a recent vid of my walkera35: http://media.putfile.com/walkera35

Thank you,

The problem is that i've donned all that tricks.

I'm in annother option.I'm changing all the pots with new ones, better ones. But problem remains, as i can't get control of the heli due to fast moves of the cyclic with short movement of the stick.
But the main problem is that i'm short on cash to buy annother set of radio and reciever, so i'm trying to hack this one to work as well as it can be .I'm alone in this hobby and the only help i get is here and from a portuguese friend who lives a bit far from me, so only using the messenger and esporadic meetings, he can help me.
I know that there's a way or two of getting half the rate of servo travel, but i can't manage to get it donned.

I'll keep trying 'till i get the money to buy a new radio set. Meanwhyle, thank you for trying to help.

BTW . Nice vid ! wich i do that some day...
