I bought a few Hitec HS55s and need to know what exactly i must reverse (eg transmitter, etc) so the controls at the transmitter are correct.

From 'nother noob. There is dip 7 switch marked CCPM/norm and there is the mode toggle switch on the upper right that says 1 or N. Are they related? Thanks

Mudsoft - Well , when I installed mine all of my controls were reversed. I fixed this by flipping the proper dip switches on the back of the transmitter. (1,2and 6 I think)

Thanks PhoS, but do I have to unlock dipswitch 8 first? If so, then should I lock 8 again after reversing the relevant dips?

Thanks Phos. Now can anyone tell me what the two switches do? Where should each be for CCPM flight? Thanks. (I have read about forty of the pages in this thread and haven't seen a discussion of this.)

switch on right toggles between normal flight mode (throttle stick increases/decreases both motor speed and mainblade pitch together) and "mode1" or "idle up" which switches the motor speed to full throttle regardless of the position of the throttle stick - the throttle stick increases/decreases main blade pitch only in this mode. Can't remember what effect if any switch 7 has but mine is in off position.

There is a new manual on the Walkera web site. It isn't great, but it is better than the old one.

Hey pischla, once you get the belt drive going tell us how the heli performs. I recently received my heli and had problems getting it off the ground. Ended up loosening up the gearing on the tail at both the motor end and tail rotor end and started to get some better movement. After going over the heli before its next flight I found that the plastic cog nearer the motor had started to deteriorate, so I got that replaced. Next the Carbon fibre Tail shaft rod broke. I know it only a $5 item to replace however I already sick of the tail rotor issues that have been plaguing me .

If the belt drive ends up being any good I might invest some $$$$ and upgrade.

Also, has any one purchased any Li-po batteries for their #35. I saw a seller on E-bay (Happy-buy) selling the 1800Ma 11.1v battery and charger for around AUD$65. Has any one bought any of these Li-po's and are they reliable. My stock standard Ni-cads last for 4 Min which is enough for me to check if every thing is OK then they go flat.

I broke two of the drive shafts the same way. I finally bought a new steel drive shaft. It comes as an assembly with a tail tube with bearings, drive shaft and plastic graes on both ends for $20. http://www.ehirobo.com/shop/index.php?cPath=82_95
I just checked their site and they are apparently all out now though.

Smadadet, I left you this on the 36 string:

I just ordered a belt drive conversion kit from HeliDirect. They are $55 + shipping. It has some CNC parts included with it. Havent got it yet but it loks good. I havent heard of anybody having trouble with the belt drive system-the conversion kit on the #35 or the #36 stock system.

mr5alty, check the message I left for Smadadet about the belt drive. Also, I bought a 1800mAh 12C batery and charger for $35 from ucetech on EBay. He was sort of slow, but the battery and charger are good.

Cheers,

Al

Iv'e been on vacation for a week and received the belt drive during that time. Spent an evening installing it and only have to reinstall the electronics to test it out.
One thing I noticed was that the tail rotor gearbox is a bit too tight for the gear, couldn't use the rearmost screw. Also had to drill 5mm holes in the frames for the elevator cradle bearings.

Will post some pics when I get home from work.
