The main advantage would be the increase power, thus increased head speed, stability and responsive control. Mine hovers @ 50% throttle and 6 degreee pitch, where as before it was about 85% throttle, with a tiny climb after that. The only problem I have is the idle up mode, the thing will shake itself to pieces if the blades are slightly out of balance!!

Hi!

Anybody tried carbon blades on the #35? Are they good for any 3D? Just ordered a pair so I have them when needed. 25 bucks for a set seems like a reasonable price. I read somewhere that it would be more aggressive with the carbon ones. Tried some zap400 foam blades on it too but they seem to flex a little bit to much, so I put on the walkeras original again. Today I have been hovering both sides in and found the guts to bring it to about 2,5 meters (8 feet) for a stable tail in hover.

..... The one MAJOR thing you need to look for with a new Walkera 35 is that the flybar linkages are too long and they force the upper part of the swash plate to rotate away from its operating point. These MUST be shortened. You will need to pop them off and remove the link and clip about 2-3mm off the end and fix the ball link back on with a little CA. This is the one major cause of failure, fix it BEFORE your first flight.

Did you mean the MH035-036 or 020 p/n?

It's the part HM035-036 links that are a bit too long. On my heli anyway. They connect to the part HM035-020.
The part HM035-020 should be level with the flybar.

I hope someone here can help....

My Walkera came with the Mabuchi 370 motor

It also came with an 11.1v 1800MAH Lipo battery

I replaced the ESC with a pegasus 35p (along with the radio and a HH Gyro)

the Mabuchi motor has cooked in 7 charges. I just bought a GP ElectriFly 370 to replace it.

The ElectriFly 370 is a 6.0-9.6volt....

Isn't the 11.1v 1800 lipo going to cook this motor?

The Mubachi was a 4.5-9.6volt - Nominal Voltage is 7.2. Did the Battery that came with my heli cook the Mubachi?

I don't understand all the ins/outs of this DC power and motor matching....11.1volt seem's fishy though.

Thanks in advance

Don't fly it for too long, fly several minutes and let the motor rest for 20 minutes. A heat sink won't preserve the life of the motor and it only adds additional weight.

Anyone know a place where I could upload a 20 MB video of me flying my heli? A friend of mine was kind enough to capture some video the first time I brought it outside.
It's really a different thing flying in the wild.

I just bought the Walkera 35# helicopter. The user's manual for the 35# is much better written than the previous user's manuals for other Walkera helicopters. But I still try to digest the information from the manual. Can anyone please explain what do those graphs mean on page 8 (tx collective ptich curve), page 9(alternative motor control curves), and page 10(linear/differential curves)?!?!?

I flew the heli last night with the new motor....tons of torque of course. The motor gets too hot to touch after about 2 min of hovering 6" off the ground.

I'm wondering....

I have the heli and radio set so the collective increases with the motor speed. The radio allows me to adjust all the curves (JR XP6102). It is set to 0 deg pitch at 0 throttle and lifts off to 6" hover at about 2/5ths throttle. If I increase the head speed (volts to the motor and blade inertia) by moving the collective further up the throttle curve, would more volts and higher head speed decrease the pull (amps) when the collective adds load? by reducing amps, I'm hoping to reduce the heat....??

I know some have said they run a whole battery with very little heat.....could someone with no heat problems please check the degree of pitch they are running at the point thier heli starts to hover? Its a pretty safe assumption on my part that a higher head speed would require less collective/pitch to produce lift. I can't assume we all have a tach and I sure don't so the only other measurement that would help would be collective at lift off.

thx

I have mine set to 6 degree pitch @ at about 80% throttle for hover, full throttle gives me 8 degree pitch and a fair amout of lift. This only applies when the bat is new.
