Zman39 -> Thunder Tiger 91FS (1/31/2005 12:54:43 AM)

Anyone have any experience with the Thunder Tiger 91 FS? User friendly? Any problems?

Thanks
Mike

I experienced one about a month ago. It was backfire city no matter what you did. I changed the Zinger 14-6/10 prop out for a 14-6 APC and it ran beautifully with no problem after that. It had acted like the Zinger was too big for it?

It sure ran nice after the prop change.

Was Morgan Omega 15%. Elevation 500' temp was around 60 F OS "F".

Enjoy,

Jim

It will run a bigger prop with a colder plug, but it runs best with a 14-6 or 13-8. Strongest 91 with a 14-6.

I have four (4) ---Biggest Bang for the buck in that class!---

ukrconsul -> RE: Thunder Tiger 91FS (1/31/2005 4:29:52 AM)

And biggest weight also - 200 g more then Saito 91.

seanychen -> RE: Thunder Tiger 91FS (1/31/2005 4:38:55 AM)

So it is the biggest bang for the buck, as well as mass for the buck?

cruzomatic -> RE: Thunder Tiger 91FS (1/31/2005 8:07:28 AM)

I have two and like them. Might want to consider the Mag .91RFS as well. I have 3 of those and like them a lot as well. Good luck deciding.

The TT91 is a great engine for the price, only thing is that the front bearing is prone to leaking. The engine will haul something like the WM Super Chipmunk (8#) with ease ... not 3D but with ease. Magnums I think are ok ... the 61 is a very good performing engine.

I have 2 of them and like them both. Also run 14x6. Only thing I dislike is no rocker cover gasket and they both leaked. Built my own gaskets from cereal box card board. Still seeped very little. Need a little better gasket material.

Sport_Pilot -> RE: Thunder Tiger 91FS (2/2/2005 3:33:58 AM)

All of mine came with rocker cover gaskets. But I stripped the thread of one of the screws. Tapped the hole through the first fin and put a nut behind it to fix it.
