Status: offline 		Doesn't take too many props, and less than one LiPoly pack, for Motocalc to pay for itself... It's a whole lot less expensive than buying and trying a whole bunch of different combinations to find the right one.

Status: offline 		well i got 3 props and half of a 3s4p pack had them sitting here for a week no check from motocalc yet motocalc is like the weights of planes listed by the manufactures its usually wrong

Status: offline 		Jeez, I thought suggesting that you take advantage of the FREE 30-day Motocalc trial WAS helping... People don't necessarily know about that offer. Wow, talk about a slap in the face.

For the record, I don't even own a copy of Motocalc. It's not installed on my computer. I haven't felt the need for it, since I only use motors from manufacturers who provide application charts and example setups. You wanted someone to run the numbers in Motocalc for you, so you obviously find value in the software. All I did was suggest that you should purchase a copy. How was ANYTHING I said embarrasing to anyone?

I notice that none of you who jumped down my throat gave him an answer, either.

If any of you have a problem with how ANYONE on this forum behaves, by all means, report it.

I've just wiped out several posts in this thread, where people were jumping to false conclusions and generally not behaving nicely.

MotoCalc is not the only one available, there is also ElectriCalc, and as Spastic notes, P-Cal is a freebie.

Additionally, as Matt himself said, many makers have their own charts on their web sites.

Now be nice, or we can close the thread. Your choice.

Here is what he wanted...19 amps, 8.3oz thrust, 82mph prop speed.
I bet you would be better off with a gearbox...1.8 to 1, or 2 to 1 with a 7x3 - 7x5..

with your motor/battery , a 1.8 to 1 gb, and a 7x3,motocalc claims 18amp draw, 16oz. thrust, 38.6mph prop speed,927 RofC.

same as above w/6x3 gives 15.6amp draw, 15oz. thrust,48.6 propspeed, 919 RofC.

It is obvious how much better it will do with a gearbox! Plus flight times go up. Unless this is a pylon racer, slap a gearbox on it. If you need some more numbers from motocalc...just ask.

I feel sharing info is a big part of learning more about what you already know.
