I recently ordered an Airtech Blade Runner indoor helicopter because I was getting cabin fever and wanted something to harrass the cats with This morning my long awaited ship finally came in and I opened the box. When they say ready to fly they aren't kidding. All you have to do is open the box, unstrap the shipping wires, and undo a few pieces of tape and take off some protective tissue, install the antenna and tx battery (9volt) and do a little charging and you're set to go It has a tiny rotor on the boom that lifts it to go foward and pushes it down to go backward. It has counter rotating blades, which allow it to turn left or right and the boom rotor handles the rest. I was actually able to get it to hover and fly reasonably well on my first charge It's definately an indoor copter though, as it's way too light to fly outside. The transmitter has a cable that comes out the back to charge the flight pack and it also has an adapter to plug the tx into the wall while you recharge the heli. All in all a whole lot of fun indoors for those days you can't go outside for whatever the reason. They advertise 8 minute flights after the heli battery has been used a few times and on the first flight I got around five minutes of uninterrupted flight. This outta be a LOT of fun. The cats hate it by the way so I'm going to have to be careful not to let them near it when I'm not around. I still remember the day they managed to get my rc blimp down........Oh the humanity! hehehe

We got one and we are having trouble with forward and reverse flight ...it seems that the blade in the tail
does not push enough air to tilt the nose forward or pitch it up ....

Mine's the same way, I'm thinking of heating up the rear rotor and bending the blades some more, have you gotten it to work any better?

One thing we have tried that made it a little better is to cutoff the circular gaurd on the tail blade to make it lighter ...
let us know how the heating and re-pitching goes.

Same problem here with the forward/backward issue.
I will try to cut off the rotor blade guard as mentioned here above.

an other issue I have problems with is the charging.
I followed the instructions as mentioned in the manual, but after about 10 minutes the charging LED does not make any sense any more, and it never seems to charge completely.
two minutes is the maximum flying time with me.

looks like the battery stops charging at about half level...
anyone else had this problem?

Hello All,

Just purchased the OEM Chinese version off eBay (approx $30 including shipping!) and having same problems that everyone is talking about...most disturbing is the charger led light coming on (never flashes) after only 10-15 minutes. Instructions state 20-30 min charging time before trying to fly. This is my first experience with LiPo batteries, so as soon as the charger indicates full, I pull the helo off. I can get about 3-4 min flying time. Rear rotor also is weak and seems to really affect main blades when activated. Backward flight OK but forward flight slightly sluggish...if I hold the stick for forward or backward flight too long, the helo starts to drop out of the sky even when I increase throttle.
Any suggestions/hints besides ones already posted?

Thanks,
Joel
