R/C... can you tell me more about engine size of this models, thinking in DF. Really in Argentina 3 turbines are VERY expensive. Just think my home cost = 2 turbines....
Iīm thinking to buy this plan set, but didnīt know nothing about it

ok..plans just got in today...(mail scr..up)..anycase...3 sheets....good size bird...no info on how to proceed...fixed undercarriage...(guess who'll be changing that )...and meant - in original configuration - for 3 B&C .60 engines with the B&C 124-s fan unit (both made by bertella himself)the fan unit
is interesting in that it is built with high resistance aluminum alloy - the rotor (10 blades) being milled out of a solid block via cnc machining...

fan diameter 124 mm weight of rotor 130 grams weight of complete unit 410 grams...

hmmm....methinks I'm gonna use 'em here (bird designed for them anycase)....and an engine to see what it's like...though I'll probably upgrade to the .99 or at worst mount 3 rossi 105's...(I intend to glass the whole plane and add a few features...like folding wing tips....so weight will go up)

my only problem is...I don't know where to build it...not enough space...(for now)...

Wow, sounds very neat!
What's the wingspan on it again? And are the plans full scale? I may have to buy a set of these, that 124 mm of clearance for the ducted fans would be perfect for the right sized turbine!

Thanks for the update on the plans.

-Andy

yes full scale...you need a BIG table.... except for the wing which is drawn as a a half in two parts on one sheet...wingspan 1600mm...weight should come out to approx 10 kg..(22 lbs)..but I need to ask if that includes glassing the whole thing...he's got plans for an X29 as well...and a bunch of other birds...

Actually the correct term for "riding the shock wave" is compression lift.

thats true, the XB rode its shock wave while in supersonic travel. If you think about it, all the parts that moved into another postion while flying into supersonic is quite amazing. I mean, all those things to keep that plane stable, the wing wips, the rudders, all the scientific stuff about that plane.

I have plans for a .60 size pusher prop XB-70. The aircraft located at WPAFB was use as a reference.
