Just ordered the kit last week, if you can hang on a couple of days that little brown truck should be leaving it on the doorstep. I'll pass on what the manual or plans show for the recommended cg.

Thanks CW46, We're having the tip over on taxi problem. Fly off grass. Unless cut very short, taxing is a problem. I want to balance it as far to the rear as I can without making it snappy. Bought it built so don't have plans. Thanks for your help! WLJ

And the answer is:

Center of gravity is 5 1/2"- 5 3/4" behind the wing leading edge measured at the wing root.

FWIW - Suggested control surface travel:

Aileron - 7/8" up and down
Elevator- 1 1/8" up and down
Rudder - 2" left and right
Flaps - 85 degrees

Love those trucks leaving big boxes.

.02 cents, cg the plane more forward than aft. It looks deceiving, with that big root chord, but if you get tail heavy or even aft, it becomes a very pitch sensitive airplane, more so than any plane I have ever flown. Set it toward the forward suggestion, and you have a rock solid airplane that can hold a straight line for you all day long, to the point of boredom!

Enjoy it.

Just finished my 13th flight on my new Yellow Spit and mine is balanced 5-3/4 from the front of the wing. My take offs are done with full up elevator off grass with a gradual decrease in elevator as the speed picks up. Very little up elevator on the hard stuff.
G-38 for power and a 18-10 Pro Zinger(7400 rpms) and it weighs 25 lbs. 2-1/2 lbs of non cc material on the firewall
Speed is very fast for such a small engine. I do notice the speed bleeding off in my steep climb outs after a low fast pass though.
I love the way this aicraft flies! I cant say anything bad about this bird.

Just ordered a G62 for mine. I figured if it needs nose weight I might as well put it to use and ease off the throttle as it enters the loop.
