Do not mind some others posts. I have both the 22a and the 35. here is the lowdown. the 22a i would NOT recommend for a new flyer. its very strong, and fast with two exceptions. The rear of the nylon/plastic frame where it connects the carbon fibre base is weak. reinforced with a good 2 part exopy, its fine. a more serious problem is the main motor gear. it has a nasty habit of chewing teeth up. The gear has two parts to it, rather than one (as the 35 does) to drive the tail rotor. best advice i can give here, is be very careful that you dont have any major impacts (virtually impossible) or upgrade to a metal gear (pricey). otherwise, the 22a is a FAST squirrelly machine. I recommend it as a good heli, but its NOT for the beginner. the 35 is larger and heavier, and much more robust. im very pleased with mine. unlike the 22a it uses plastic gears, and the main gear has only one set of teeth. this gear is far stronger than the one in the 22a. of the three gyros offered by walkera, we have one of each. and in our experience, the stock one on the 35 is the best. For more advice, heres what i would say from having a total fleet of 5 electric helis....if you can afford one, and they are cheap (dont buy from a hobby shop, i saw one for sale for 250 bux!-you can order online for 80!), get a mini dragonfly. its a Fixed Pitch machine, and its flimsy. but it flies well, and stable. for the rank beginner, i would have done this knowing now, what i wish i knew then. 3 or 4 weeks with the FP, and youll be ready for the 35. any other questions, feel free to email me at ghosty1@gmail.com, as im not gonna do a pilot review of 3 different helis, when they are mostly slammed anyway.
