Hello everyone,

Have any of you guys had a CP helicopter No.35 or No.22 yet? I saw them for sell on ebay, but I have not found any review yet. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks for your information. I watch their videos of these helicopters, and they did not do any 3D move at all. They seems to be stable in the air, especially, the No.35. Any one has any other idea? Thanks.

DO NOT BUY ONE OF THOSE!! I got the walkera cp and it sucks beyond anything else. Just recieved my trex and it is AWSOME to say the LEAST!! Save alot of time and money and get something good like the trex or shogun or any century product. Please take the advice and do not get one of those you will hate yourself for it. Later
Andy

Thanks for your advice, Andy. The only thing that bothered me is the Walkera No.35 heli has almost 10mm longer than the t-rex (750mm vs 630), but it used only motor 380 for power plant. I have the 400 motor, so would be okay for the T-rex?

It's either a hit or miss type of helicopter. Mine d22 is ok and I've replaced the main motor. The problem was the screws used for mounting the mainmotor were with uneven lengths. The longer screw was rubbing against the internal components of the mainmotor caused the motor wore out fast. I think the QC is very bad for the d22. I saw the d22 on eBay for auction. The servo lasted only 1 or 2 minuties on a brand new helicopter. OUCH!

Hi People,

I have just bought a Walkera 400 (#35??) and luckily I must say it hasn't lived up to the bad quality you guys are talking about! But that said I have a couple of questions I would like to ask as this is my fist 'real' heli, my liast was a dragonfly FP and a Jabo II FP. Firstly, when I am in Normal mode (Fixed pitch) the heli doesn't seem to lift more that 4 feet at full throttle, now it has a 11.1v 16mAh lithium Battery so that should be ok, I am running the standard motor, which i know is a bit crap, but still seems to run ok, so my question is should I attempt to change the pitch angle? and if so how do I do this without effecting the CP mode?? Also what do the two dials at the top of the controller do? I have turned them whil hovering and they dont do anything!!

Hope someone can give a newbie some guidance!!

Thanks

Ben

Hi Ben,

Dipswitch 8 locks/unlocks Collective in non-3D mode. It's a set and forget. If unlocked, the two knobs control channel 5 and 6. The receiver mixes them. Set it again and it remembers the last pitch setting.

The RHS switch turns engine on full power. Then it's in collective mode on the left joystick.

They are a bit underpowered.

Regards
David

Oh,

Forgot to add.

In non-3D mode.

The left one controls Gain. The Right knob controls bias.
With gain, pitch increases with throttle too.

David.

Do not mind some others posts.

I have both the 22a and the 35.

here is the lowdown.

the 22a i would NOT recommend for a new flyer. its very strong, and fast with two exceptions. The rear of the nylon/plastic frame where it connects the carbon fibre base is weak. reinforced with a good 2 part exopy, its fine. a more serious problem is the main motor gear. it has a nasty habit of chewing teeth up. The gear has two parts to it, rather than one (as the 35 does) to drive the tail rotor. best advice i can give here, is be very careful that you dont have any major impacts (virtually impossible) or upgrade to a metal gear (pricey). otherwise, the 22a is a FAST squirrelly machine. I recommend it as a good heli, but its NOT for the beginner.

the 35 is larger and heavier, and much more robust. im very pleased with mine. unlike the 22a it uses plastic gears, and the main gear has only one set of teeth. this gear is far stronger than the one in the 22a. of the three gyros offered by walkera, we have one of each. and in our experience, the stock one on the 35 is the best.

For more advice, heres what i would say from having a total fleet of 5 electric helis....if you can afford one, and they are cheap (dont buy from a hobby shop, i saw one for sale for 250 bux!-you can order online for 80!), get a mini dragonfly. its a Fixed Pitch machine, and its flimsy. but it flies well, and stable. for the rank beginner, i would have done this knowing now, what i wish i knew then. 3 or 4 weeks with the FP, and youll be ready for the 35.

any other questions, feel free to email me at ghosty1@gmail.com, as im not gonna do a pilot review of 3 different helis, when they are mostly slammed anyway.

I think the D22 is a good entry level helicopter for beginners. Now the beginners really have more choices whether they want to start the hobby with the traditional start by getting the FP helicopters with tail motor and then they'll get burnt in their pockets later when they have to replace those burnt tail motors which would normally lasted for only 15 flights at max or less, or they can start with the D22 which has no tail motor.

hi there davy here again trying to pick your brains regarding walkera 35 on the data for motor size it said the 380 motor was the max for the built in speed control with package and i note that you thought stock motor is a bit under powered is there a better 380 available and would you fry the electrics with a 400 ? its all quite new to me sorry to bug you all

cheers Davy
