You'll have to excuse me for wasting bandwidth on such a seemingly trivial post, but I just had to say it--I love 4-strokes! My wife bought my first one, a Saito .30, as a Christmas present for me in '03(yes, I know how lucky I am), and I was too busy with other things to get around to running it and flying it. I finally started assembling a PAM Tiger Moth .30 for it, and I dragged the test rig out to the backyard yesterday to start break-in. The motor fired right up with no tweaking other than setting the high speed needle to the recommended 2.5 turns out. The thing is so quiet, I didn't realize it had started until I pulled the starter away and the prop kept spinning at 3500rpm . I think it's actually quieter than the direct drive pusher setup I have in an electric flying wing. Gotta love that sound. I was really amazed at how much thrust the engine was putting out when I throttled up(it was blowing wet snow around behind the test rig) and how little noise it took to do it(you have to understand, I'm accustomed to the noise generated by the *cough* muffler on my ancient Fox .40bb, which sends dogs and small children running for miles and makes the deaf cover their ears , or better yet, the Cox Tee Dee .020, which spins a 4.5" prop rather ferociously, and with the racket of a thousand angry mosquitos! Moral of the story: I'm hooked. If this thing works as well in the air as it does on the test rig, I'm going to ditch all my two-strokes('cept the 1/2a stuff).
