PLEASE HELP I guess my hirobo xrb is not worth the money Hirobo charges. I finally fixed the gears even placed ca glue so that it will not slip. I followed all the instructions on their website on how to trim and balance the heli. Did all that and it still would turn to the right ( the gyro lights were both turning on and off like the instructions said. Then all of a sudden the engine start to make a wiered noise and then they totally reduced in speed so aI turned it off. I am going to my local hobby store where I bought it to get my money back and or complain to hirobo. my freind just recieved o0n of those Walkera helis and it flew after trimiimng and it cost him $175. Does anyone know what is going on?

OK Just got back fromn my Local Hobby store and they told me there is nothing they can do it is the 3rd heli they have sold with thisd problem all they said was call Hiriobo and send it back. To tell you the truth this heli is a peice of junk. the Walkera House fly that I saw at the hobby store that a customer brought in was better buil than the Famous hirobo junk. it really sucks will never buy a hirobo junk again. Better of buying the walkera brand.

Obviously your hobby shop has some issues. Ive never had one single problem from my hirobo XRB. Its got well over 300 flights on it. Im sure this is a isolated incident. Hirobo is a very well thought of company that makes some really good quality machines.

If its defective, the hobby shop should take it back or at least replace it. This is the first I've ever heard of anyone having any problems like you described. I wish you luck. Most likely your hobbyshop gets them from ALTECH. You might want to call them first.

It sounds to me like your local hobby shop just repackaged one that was messed up and sold it to you or something, because honestly. This kind of thing is NOT par for Hirobo.

I guess I was to hard on Hirobo. I got the Helicopter to fly. I am more mad at my local hobby store they have no Idea about customer service or help or knowledge. I called Altech and spoke to them. the Problem was the Pinion Gear on Both motors. It resolved all Issues. When i toke off the Old Pinion gears I noticed that they were both split open. I found out that when this happens its because of the heat of the motors thus my helicopter was used before I bought it. I must say I had a very successfull first Flight I did not crash. Thanks for all the help

Hello I just got my lama yesterday and am trying to tweek it a little for bitter hovering and flying. I have noticed that the chapper likes to rudder right a lot and hardly wants to rudder left at all? I have tryed to adjust the pitch of the top blades like the book says to do but not much is helping. I'm affraid I'm making it worse just trying to fix it. does the bottom rotor control the left rudder function? Because the lower rotor gear has something wrong with one of the teeth and it clicks when I run it. the person I bought this from said it is fine that it is like this but I have my doughts. other then that it is going pretty good try to get it to hover. it diffenetly will not stay perfectly staionary in the air though. I am having a lot of trouble getting it to do so... any suggestions and answers to the following would be great! thanks a lot!

Well I got a little screw driver and fixed my gear problem by bending the tooth back to shape. it no longer clicks at all. it has seemed to help the heli out. But as the battery wares down it starts to get quite hard to fly. If you move the rudder to steer the thing it starts swinging all over the room and is very strange? I guess I should time the run and see when it starts working funny. Because at first at full charge it was running nice. It still isn't exactly still in the air for 5-10 secs though... The rudder was just as powerful both ways this time but gets sluggish at the end. I guess I should shut it down when it just has enough pull to get off the ground an go up slowly... well any help with things would still be great thanks a lot!

Hey Woody, it sounds like you got the pitch angles corrected. The low battery does effect the motors and can cause spin, with mine it usually doesnt spin but it becomes impossible to rudder left (or right, i cant remember). Its a good idea to replace the battery when it starts getting hard to clime.

Hello again I was woundering if its normal for the heli to aileron left when you elevator forward. In other words its leaning to the left when I want to go forward.... I always have to correct it to make it fly straight.... any thoughts? thanks

Yes , it will drift to the left with forward stick, but after you drive it for a while you will be doing it automatically. As the batt. gets low it will yaw to the right which is normal. Telling you it needs a recharge.

Hellow Fellow XRB pilots. I have finnally beren able to fly my XRB at least 10 times without a crash. From my on experience the main problems with the Helis are the Pinion grear braking (small fractures) and the over heating of the motors(which leads to the pinion gear breaking and the motors running at different speeds.) Every time I fly I follow the instructions
http://model.hirobo.co.jp/products/0301-904/04300.htm (this is like the bible)
    have fun flying

A few people have had issues with this, not me though. My XRB flys straight. I dont know what your problem is but you may be able to fix it by adjusting your gyro or if you have an aftermarket radio you can mix it out. There are other posts in this thread regarding this problem. My suggestion to any XRB pilot...read this ENTIRE thread and read the manual.

And as far as fractured pinion gears and overheating motors, just give it time to cool like the manual sais and you will never have these problems. An overheating motor will feel just like a weak battery, you wont have full rotor control and thats your sign to land it and take a break.

    Peace B im bouncin

BDavison, thanks for this great thread.I have learned a ton from all the input. I have about ten years in R/C fixed wing and Zero time with helis but my curiosity got the best of me. I got a Housefly before I knew about the Hirobo but with all the good info I have many flights on the Fly and so far no broken parts. I am hovering and piroeting in an open area about
8 feet square in the Family room. I have knocked the flybar out of it a bunch of times but the plastic blades just hang in there and the flybar just snaps back in.

Your comments about the angle of the links joining the flybar and upper blades solved a lot of problems in getting consistent flights after minor crashes, a few degrees change of angle will take out lateral drift problems. Now every time I run into something, I check the angle on the links so the flights are much more consistent.

I have also learned that if I'm drifting towards something I can rotate the tail around to the obstacle and the tail will fend the heli off so the blades
dont hit. I try to operate no more than 2 feet off the floor cause anything higher just makes a bigger crash. Also I always try to remember to have a plan for every liftoff. Anyway, thanks to this thread I have a pretty good Housefly. DWR.

Hello. My XRB has flown great until the other day when I hit a pole in my basement with a blade and came crashing down to the floor. I busted the
