I have come to the conclusion that one should not run any glow engine with a fuel that is based on 100% synthetic oil. This is based on personal experience with one engine, OS FX 1.60, and hearsay. Now, I'm not nieve to think that this is gospel. I don't think the popularity of Coolpower is without merit.

Is it OK to stick with one fuel for all your engines, e.g., I used Wildcat 15% Ultra Premium almost exclusively.

How about some educated response. What are the recommendations for specific engine types, specific engines, engine brands, ect. Please provide response based on technical knowledge rather than "this is what I've used and it seams to work".

Some examples to consider: (these are some of my engines and their desired use.)

1a) OS FX .46, purpose is general sport and fun flying.
1b) OS FX .46, purpose is aerobatic and general sport flying.
1c) OS FX .46 (on Mac's tune pipe), purpose is ultra speed and aerobatic flying.
2) OS FX 1.60, purpose is general sport and fun flying (I burned one of these on a single lean run with Coolpower)
3) OS SX .50, purpose is general sport and fun flying.
4) Saito FA-100, purpose is general sport and fun flying.
5) TT .46 Pro, purpose is aerobatic precision, sport, and highspeed flying.
6) Webra Silverline .40, purpose is warbird scale flying.
7) Moki 180, purpose is general sport and fun flying.
8) Fox .45bb, purpose is aerobatic precision and sport flying.
9) TT .42 GP, purpose is for the Laneer Shrike.

Well given the range of engines and their intended use that's a bit like asking if you can use the same fuel in your 2 stroke lawnmower and your Ferrari

OK, first things first. You've already had an experience with Cruel Power and what can happen with ONE lean run on all synthetics with marginal oil content. So you need a fuel with a higher oil content and a BETTER oil. Castor is by far the best oil but it can be mixed with synthetics. Your problem here is that you've got at least one 4 stroke which might carbon up the exhaust valve with too much castor which basically sets your limit at maybe 3% castor. If you'd only had 2 strokes then I'd have suggested a 50/50 blend of castor/synthetic. If you care about your engines and want long life then go for at least 20% total oil content. Woops, I see you've got a TT 42 GP which I believe is a bushed engine...so you'll need about 22% oil (and a bushed engine definitely needs castor for long life).

Now the nitro content. If your Saito is one of the earlier ones then they don't like too much nitro, I believe only around 5%, and the Moki also (being European) probably doesn't like much more than that either. However your tuned pipe OS 46FX would benefit from much more nitro.

Given all of this and that you only want to use one fuel then you'll need a fuel with 19% synthetic/3%castor and 5% nitro. I think you can see where I'm going with all this. You can't have just one fuel that will be even close to ideal for such a range. So let's get practical.

For general sport flying you absolutely do NOT need nitro but I gather that's hard to find in America so you're stuck with 5%. Use a fuel with at least 20% oil and half of that castor.

For the Saito, same as above but only 3% castor.

For the tuned pipe OS use the same oil as for sport flying but with 15% nitro.
