Hi Josh, I flew the JJ today and it flew very well. I guess that I got the first gen. kit as there was only balsa in the wing spar and it folded first flight. What should I do about it? Milt

Hey Milt,

The Balsa spar is fine on the JJ because its so light. It requires a ply or blasa doubler over the Spar connection inside the fuse, though, as mentioned in the plans and included in a small plastic baggy. Also, make sure you epoxy the wings into the fuselage. I have CA'd mine in and it worked but after 40 abusive flights the wings start to flex.

Give us a call - we will see what we can do.

What did it weigh?

Sorry this happened- I got one of the VERY first JJ kits and my wings never folded. I have had 4 since, wings folded on none, all stock.

Josh

Hi josh,

I did all of that I used 1/16 ply for the doubler on the spar. The spar held fine inside the fuse both wings pealed off at the fuse sides. Plane flew great hovered easily rolling hariers no problem.

Not sure what it weighed I used HS 56's JR 610 rec. CC Ph.25 Himax 2025 5300 TP 1900 Cobri Box at 6.55-1 APC 12/6 E

Weight should have been fine.

I'll give you a call sometime this afternoon.

Milt

Josh,
I have been flying for 18 years and lately had fallen in love with electrics. I have had two JJ's, an icon and just recently purchased a Quiet Storm. I wanted your opinion on motor and battery combo for the quiet storm. My JJ has had a Himaxx 4200 64 tooth and recently put on a PJS 1000 with a tp2100 and 35amp CC. It is awesome. It puts out 250 watts and 27 amps at full power. I have a hard time deciding on keeping it really light with less power or a little heavy with tremendous power. As you well know, there is nothing like a really light airplane.
Thanks
Sean Strasburg
