2 guys have been filming at most of the UK shows this year and have uploaded many many videos to youtube. Here is one that I was proud to fly the Hurricane in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDGXj1H4zHo&feature=player_embedded but if you look at the rest of their vids you will see many great vids involving great warbirds.

Heres one other from the same event......I was flying the ground effect P47!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnsU1md-_8w

Enjoy

Dear All
I arrived back from Tibenham at about 7pm via Muffler's to pick up the Spit XIV,
Jon N. has arrived safely from Germany complete with six models and a German uniform.
I think he is going to wear the uniform at the Ball in the evening.
Hopefully we will get into double figures for the ball.
One of his models is a BT Gladiator, so it will be the first time that we will have a biplane in the WW2 Balbo.

You can arrive when ever you like, you can also fly your electric models
early if they are reasonable quiet.

Yes there will be foamy slots as most people have one apart from me.

Running order,
Briefing just before 10am followed by the opening flight by Dickie Scarbrough with his 1/4 scale Spit IX.
Flying off the peg until just before 12 0'Clock, one minute silence at 12 this will be concluded at 12:01
by a flypast and land in by the Wildcats Pitts duo.

In the afternoon we get serious with various slots they include,
WW1
Inter war
WW2
Foamy
Multi
classic Jets
Modern Jets
Civilian.
WW2 aerotow (Gigant)
Foamy scale aerotow, any foamy scale gliders are welcome

Guest of Honour Sqn. Ldr. Steve Brownlow RAF (ret)
will give a short talk on his flying career sometime during the afternoon,
hopefully we will get a good turn out for this.

The Tibenham WW2 Balbo will be at 3:30pm.

Flying will continue until it gets dark roughly 6:30pm.
The Battle of Britain Ball should get underway in the clubhouse at about 7pm.
Hopefully Keith W. will entertain us with his EDF nightflying F16 complete with led's
in various colours.
Once everyone has had enough the event will come to a close for another year.

Thank you all in advance for supporting this, which in my opinion is an important event.

Dear All
We had a very good day at Tibenham on Friday with some excellent models present.
We had a varied collection with some very unusual German ones.
They included a jet powered Horton flying wing, a JU88 Mistel with a Focke Wulf 190A
mounted on the top of it.

A Heinkel HE111Z Zwilling, this was brought over from Germany by Jon N.

A Salamander and a ME 321 Gigant glider also owned by Jon.

Below are some pictures of the HE 111Z Zwilling and Jon in his German uniform.
Hopefully there will be some more pictures to follow shortly.

Regards Phil G.

Dear Andy
I believe that it is two Grauphner ARTF's joined together.
It was a shame that you could not make it on Friday the Dewoitine would have been ideal for this event.

Dear All
Now that the dust has settled so to speak,
I would like to thank all those who attended this event and made it the success that it was
and a big thank you to Jon N. (antonnick) for making the long trip from Germany once again,
complete with a collection of unusual models which included the show stopping Heinkel HE 111Z.
I would also like to thank special guest Scott Cuppello (Hobbyking) who travelled down by train from Cumbria. Some very nice and unusual models were on show and all were very nicely flown.

We got off to a good start with the opening flight carried out by Dickie S. with his
1/4 scale Spit IX, one of his barrel rolls was outstanding.
Probably the most outstanding model was Mick B's Sea Fury with it's folding wings
and radial engine, it was a sight and sound to behold.

The one minute silence at midday for all the fallen was impeccably observed
with a verse from the ode to remembrance being read by Sqn. Ldr. RAF (ret) Steve Brownlow.
and then the Wildcats Pitts duo arrived dead on time at 12:01 to conclude it.

We had a couple of fairly heavy showers in the afternoon, fortunately they did not last long.
At 3:30pm we held the traditional Tibenham WW2 aircraft Balbo which I think was a new record as we had 11 models in the air together, that keeps the mind focused. In amongst it was Jon N's Gladiator
the first time that we have had a biplane in the Balbo.

After a couple of false starts with the Lanc, we managed to get the 1/9th scale BBMF into the air.
Which you can see by the pictures above, it went rather well. I was flying the Lanc, Dickie S. and Muffler
were flying the Hurricanes and Dibble was flying the Spitfire.

All too soon the day was over and it was time to put the models away in the hangar.
So off we went to the club house for the Battle of Britain Ball.
Just as I arrived at the club house Sqn Ldr. Steve Brownlow returned to give his speech.
So after we had been feed and watered, Steve gave his informal speech with everyone sitting around a table. Then he proposed a toast to us modeller's and then another to those no longer with us.
After that we had a Q and A session which was very good. I have to say that I enjoyed the Ball as
much as I did the flying, it was that good, Steve also flies models which got him into fullsize flying in the first place. At 9:30pm the Ball came to an end and that brought to an end an excellent day.

I would like to thank these people for their invaluable help, in no particular order they are.
Sqn Ldr. RAF (ret) Steve Brownlow
Stuey Sheep
Muffler
Clive
Dibble
Dickie S. (Pylon squared)
Alan B. (Pupcam)

Thank you all so very much

Does anyone have any more pictures to post please.

Regards Phil Goff

Dear All
I am having trouble posting pictures, with either my BB Playbook
Or laptop. I have some pictures of Peter R's progress with his Ziroli Dauntless
And a before and after of Dickie's Topflite ARF P47 plus his Ziroli Mitchell.

Does anyone know why this is happening?
