What if you're ordering a $400 radio? That's where the bigger discounts are needed. I agree on making the smaller orders though.

Is there a "5 ways to save" going on at the moment? I've got an order that's almost exactly $100.00. Normally I would just split into 2 $50's and use the $10 off $50 code (011E1), but one of my items is $89.99.

Can anyone help with a good $100 ad number? Thanks!

I don't have an add number for a $100 order.

Can you come up with another $50 worth of stuff for an order total of $150? Take the $20 discount 011R9 and pay $130.

Buy some props--you always need props. Buy some glow plugs. That will add up in a hurry.

Yeah. I could easily come up with $50 of extra stuff, but the problem is I'm already entering a separate $150 order at the same time. The wife will only let the budget stretch so far . . . . I'm buying accessories for the nice HouseFly helicopter she gave me for me birthday yesterday. What a woman!

Guys:
DON'T fall for the latest "Early Bird Specials" on the Tower Site. They just posted these "specials" today. They aren't very good "deals" at all right now. Shoot--they were giving $20 discounts on orders of $150. That was all through September and October. Now--11/01/2005-- you gotta spend $200 to get that same $20 discount.

TRUST ME--the specials will get a LOT better as we get closer to Christmas and even better AFTER the holidays.

Thats just what my spread sheet tells me. They may change their tactics--but I doubt it. Usually, the best specials are right after the holidays.

Hope this helps someone stretch their hobby dollars a bit more.

Hey all,
Got bored and started making up codes and found this,
011a5 is for $10 off a $25 dollar order
Also I just found out that they only allow so many incorrect codes to be entered.

I agree with RCPilet, making several $150 or just over orders. Save a lot
of $$$ that way. I have saved way more in shipping being a Club Member
than if I paid for shipping everytime. The coupons are kinda pointless but
the shipping savings is worth the club membership.

I like the club since you get free shipping on orders over $150 and with order that large I can get free cheap stuff each month as well.

I recently got this e-mail. Anyone else?

Don't discard those coupons without looking at them. About every 3rd or 4th book contains a freebie.

Dear Tower Hobbies Gold Preferred Customer, ...

Yup, I got one about 3 weeks ago. The discounts were useless, not even as good as the ones being offered on the main site.

Has anyone tried the ad codes you can get by going to Tower's "subsites" (model rockets, puzzles, trains, etc.)? They typically have MUCH better deals. I tried putting one of these codes in using the regular Tower site & it appeared that it would work even though I never placed the final order.

Just curious.
