To everyone including the naysayers, have a good day and good luck if you are taking a chance in the Litco Lotto

Did anyone get in, I checked the web site and see it was closed at 9:15est today, 09/12.

I have no interest in ordering one, but I'm getting a kick out of watching the game on the sideline.

Ok, I got on the list but not directly.

I sent my email along with a coworker sitting next to me.
He got his in, he's has promised to let me have it,
he actually more interested in seeing what the hype is about it.

I got in, but I also sent another email in my son's name, and haven't gotten a confirmation on that one yet.

I had the Naval Observatory atomic clock ticking away on my desktop, and had two emails ready and waiting to go. Sent them both at precisely at 8:00am central.

I tried for a Litco today - twice - and failed.

I scheduled an automated e-mail using my work e-mail server. I can see it went out at 9:00:05 - not too bad. I manually sent an e-mail from home - synchronized to the USNO Maser Clock. My manually sent message also went out within five seconds of 9:00 AM. And … no e-mail confirming from Litco.

I know from previous experience (my buddy got in on the last run) that the confirming e-mails are sent out within an hour or two. I guess there is always next year (February 6, 2003).

I sent an email in at 9:00:05 am (eastern time)

I sent a back up email in at 9:02:00 (eastern time)

No response back on either one???

I had my email set up to let me know when the message was received, as well as if it was delivered. No confirmation on either action.

Okay I give up.....

This could be your internet service providers fault. Some mail servers are not set up to instantly transmit an email. I would check with them and see if I were you.

Vince is actually quite correct,

when you send an email the email has to move from your PC to
your ISP's mail server, then you ISP's mail server has to send it to the destination. If your ISP has a large queue it could take several seconds more plus the couple seconds or so it took to move from your PC initially, this also does not take into account
a second or so to travel across the internet.

I just thought I would add a comment. Even if your server instantly sends your e-mail within five seconds of 9:00 am - this is not enough to get in on the list. You just have to be lucky.

My e-mails are definitely being sent out by the server within five seconds of 9:00 am. I know this because I also sent the messages to another e-mail address - so I could look at the time of receipt in the header info - see the following header info from one of my unsuccessful e-mails:

Its definitely luck since I am sure many people are sending in emails seconds before the time to anticipate delays and reach just on the 9:00

My coworker and myself sent ours directly from a mail server which would have cut out all of the middle movement.
We checked the mail server logs and our attempts were at the same time 9:00

I'm pretty sure many people also send in multiple attempts.
