I've only played with 2 bladed props but here is my personal experience for what its worth:

Menz 32x10 noisy, great spool up, great upline pull (good for 3D or Precision if you don’t mind the neighbors in the next county hearing you).
Menz 32x12 quiet, great spool up, sluggish on long upline pull, but works for 3D
Mejzlik 32x10 quiet, slow spool up, incredible (read best) upline pull, horrible for 3D, great for IMAC
NX 32x10 noisy, great spool up, great upline, great 3D
NX 32x11 medium noise, great spool up, 90% great upline, awesome freestyle prop (combo of speed and fast spool up).
Airmodels 32x11 same as above with strange sound and more expensive
3W 31.5 x 14 x 8 (3D Prop) quiet, great spool up, decent upline (quite expensive, but good all around prop, needs a massive cutout in the spinner to accommodate the blade root).
I’ve found the 3W wood props to perform much like the Menz props of similar description of diameter and pitch.

yeah,i have been playing with props for awhile, too.I have found the 28.5x12 3 blade to work best....maybe not best for 3D,even though you can do it.I have played with 2 blades, but not as much.I have flown the Airmodels 29x12 three blade.....great IMAC prop, and quite...Mejzlick three blade 28.5x12....Perfect IMAC prop, super quite....the 28x12 is a good performer as well....The Fuchs 29x12 three blade is sluggish on the uplines,a slower prop all around, and a bit noiser than the Mejzlick....i have flown a 30x10 Menz two blade, primarily for 3D...good performer,i have a 3W 32x10 two blade wooden i have not tried yet,and i just got a 30x12 Mejzlick two blade i look forward to trying(recomended by DA,Huffmier is currently using this prop and is choice for him, good pattern and good spool up for 3D)...although McConville did not like it...he prefers the 28.5x12 three blade......anybody try the Beila props or the MC props???Oh Yeah,i have done all the props above with Cannisters, not mufflers.

The Mejzlik 28.5X12 3-blade gets my vote. Quiet, powerful, awesome prop on the 150 for aerobatics.

I did my break-in with a Mejzlik 30-12 and moved to a 32-10 and love it.

IMHO, The Mej 28.5 x 12 is the best prop right now for IMAC and its also not bad for 3D. Brian likes the Mej 30 x 12, but remember he flies in Tucson, at about 2500 feet if I remember correctly. Unless the model is fairly light (under 40 lbs) you need to let a 150 unwind at that altitude.

For IMAC, beside vertical pull and low noise, one of the most important things I look for in a prop is downline breaking. The 30 x 12 has lots of pull, but comes down hill like a stone.
Likewise the Airmodels 28 x 12 and 29 x 12 3-blades seem to be pretty weak in uphill pull and have poor breaking down hill, but they are quiet.
The Mej 28.5 x 12 seems great in both respects. The only downside to it seem to be that it accelerates faster than I'd prefer which makes speed control in the pattern a little more difficult than with a slower accelerating prop. The Mej 32 x 10 is great in that respect, as we as in pull and down hill breaking. Its easiest to fly a nice constant pace sequence, but it can get loud if you arent really careful with throttle.

For a 2 blade I've found the 30x12 mej to be great on my 38.5 lb 37% Aeroworks Extra for both IMAC and freestyle. As for a 3 blade I ran a 29x12 airmodels 3 blade on my 40 lb Carden Extra and it was super quiet but didn't pull that well. I keep hearing the 28.5x12 mej 3 blade is THE prop right now so that's what I'm trying next.

28-12 vs 28.5-12 three blade, I would like to here a comparison. I know they are completely different in blade shape. Has anyone flown them back to back to make an opinion.

When I changed over to the 28.5x12 I was flying the 28x12 Airmodel. The Mejzlik is quieter, pulls better and has better downline braking. It also spools up faster. All around it is a far better prop on the 150.

The 29x12 AM is definetly quieter than the 28.5x12 Mejzlik though.

Not what I observed on my plane. The Mejzlik has a deeper note to it that is less objectionable. Maybe that is why I think it sounds quieter.

Yes, but the difference in performance between the Am 3-blade, either 28 x12 or 29 x 12, and the Mej 28.5 x 12 is night and day in my experience. Personally, I never found either of the Am 3-blades to be usable props.
