Feels like HIGH NOON here. Never been CALLED OUT before. OK I'll give you my opinion: between the H7 Pro UK, 777, MBX 5, S3 and XB8. Steering. 1st 777, 2nd XB8, 3rd MBX5, 4th S3 and 5th H7 Pro UK Stability at speed: 1st H7 Pro UK, 2nd XB8/777, 4th S3 and finally the MBX5 VFM: 1st H7 Pro UK, 2nd S3, 3rd XB8, 4th MBX5, 5th 777 Option Parts: 1st H7, 2nd 777, 3rd MBX5 and the S3 4th. The XB8 only has a handfull of options but there are more on the way (go to www.teamxray.com to place your sugestions for option parts). Racability from the box: 1st XB8, 2nd H7 Pro UK, 3rd S3, joint 4th MBX5 and 777 Cost of repairs: 1st H7 Pro UK, MBX5, XB8, S3 and then 777 Stock durability: 1st XB8, 2nd H7 Pro UK, 3rd S3, 4th MBX5 and lastly the 777 (the kink in the wishbones is a weak spot I find). Now I have to admit though the Hyper 7 seems to win the most here, I would take the XB8 first. I just like the simple design of it but not the price and it does have some teething issues. The front turnbuckles and the shock G clips for example. But once sorted the ride will almost never let you down. I cant comment on speed as they will all o the same with the same engine and gearing so I changed it to stability, hope you didn't mind. Here the H7s longer chassis really helps but it really does detract from the steering. The durability I rated on how long it took me to break them beyond drivability and to this day I still run with a bent turnbuckle in the XB8 (I replaced it but it felt wierd, so I went back)The H7 Pro UK with it's new CNC towers does NOT break the gearbox ears off like the old Pro-r used to so that has addressed the biggest weak spot on that chassis. The S3 looks like it has a solid chassis BUT, last monday I was out bashing with a mate in the local supermarket carpark when he some how managed to bend the 2 center driveshafts, the 2 chassis to center diff plates, a brake disk and that lovely Chassis. Now any buggy would bend after what he did but the cost to fix it is way more than any other due to the chassis.VFM, without doubt the H7 Pro UK has it here, You get the total package (Pro UK with P7-R and Picco 069pipe AND all the tuning options included) for the same price as the XB8 Kit, the 777 on the other hand though the same price is a far inferior stock spec than I would expect from the second bigest R/C manufacturer in the world, they truely do use their name to bump up the price. The Mugens are nice cars allround, but just dont have that design appeal to me (too square looking). Frantic. Out of all the buggies I chose for this, NONE of them are essentially the same IMO, they all have big differences, The Mugen PBS Front and C-hub Rear, The S3s Chassis, The 777s kinked A Arms, The Pro UKs Longer chassis and the XB8s Pure class (the design is immense just look at the rear chassis brace). Though to the untrained eye they may look the same, just lift off the lid and peek inside, it's a whole different world. So after all this though Calmingapple I would say in order of overall. H7 Pro UK takes gold followed by the XB8, the MBX5 next then the S3 with the 777 coming in last. There are other buggies which may creep in there like the Crono RS-01 and the Bergonzoni with it's wobble wing (they cracks me up) but I can't comment on those yet as I haven't driven them.
