Hi Folks, I'm building the first of the 3rd. gen MIBO kit. If someone will tell me how to post a pic or two, I'll show you my progress. I love the one you're building, I have a wood kit that I want to build after this one. I have to have this one ready for the Air Force Air Show in three weeks! HELP! Don

Hi Don,

In order to post photos, click on either the "Post Reply" button at the bottom of the posts, or click on either "Reply" or "Quote" at the top of any given post. At the bottom of the message box that comes up where you type your note, click on "Click here to upload images and files." It should be straight forward from there, but if you have questions about resizing photos or anything else on uploading, PM me and I'll walk you through it. The "Fast Reply" message box at the bottom of the posts doesn't have a link for uploading photos.

Can't wait to see your A-10!

Paul

Don,
You better get cracking if it need to be done in 3 weeks I've been screwing around with mine for a couple of years on and off. Fortunately, the Mibo has a high degree of pre-fabrication. You should be able to pull it off if you don't have to work.
To post pics, just click on the "Click here to upload images and files" link at the bottom of the reply box. This will bring up another box with a bunch of browse buttons on it. Click a browes button and point it to the file the pictures are stored in. Select the pic you want. If you want to add another pic, simply repeat with the next browse button down. When done, click OK and wait for the pics to upload. When thats done, click the OK button at the bottom of the reply box and your done. Hope this makes sense and helps.

Andrew,
We need to see some pics or your project. Sounds great. Spending $250.00 for paint is too rich for my blood though. That's an engine to me. I'm sure you'll get a killer finish from it. I'm going for the 3 color European 1 scheme. My F-16 is the 2 tone grey and I can't keep track of it unless there's a bright blue sky. Of course when I get below the tree line, the woodland camo will kick in. The problem with camo is "it works"!

Hey Paul,
Got any brainy ideas about where to mount the throttle servos? I'm mounting the fans now so it's time to start thinking about it

Doug,

I have my throttle servos behind the wing mounting block and just in front of the first plywood motor mount. I am using goldenrod as the connectors. The left servo for the right engine and right for left. I am using a JR matchbox so I can adjust them to idle and max power seperately. I have no bind at all in the movement.

I have some pix below. I am way past these pix. I only have a film camera, way behind the times LOL. I need to develope two more rolls of film that have updated pix.

Andrew

Doug,

Do you still want the FS numbers for the European I scheme? I have them so you may find someone that has them or can mix them for you.

Great idea on the throttle servos Andrew. I think I can make that work.
If you have the color numbers handy please post or email them to me puckwall@charter.net

Thanks for the help!

Doug

My plan for throttle control was to use one servo and two flexible control cables. They would run back and then loop up and come in from behind each engine, something like in the photos. They'll connect to the bottom of the control arm on the throttle servo to avoid interference with the other servo (the throttle servo is in the center without the arm attached). That's the plan, anyway. If the small radius of the cable is a problem, or if I find I need individual engine control, I'll have to go to Plan B!

No kits that I'm aware of. The Mibojets A-10 (www.mibojets.com) needs two 70N engines, minimum, which is about 16 lbs. thrust. The P60's are a bit small at 13 lbs. for the Mibo A-10. The George Miller A-10, the subject of this thread, probably could be converted to use the P60's, but I'm no expert. With laser cut parts you could get something close to a short kit of this A-10.

Hope that helps. Any Mibo experts, please weigh in on whether the P60's have enough power.

Paul

Doug,

Here are the original FS numbers for the European I camo.
Markings 37038 black
Flaps and speed brakes 36081 dark grey or match adjacent camo
Fuse is: 36081 dark grey, 34102 light green, 34092 dark green. Another variation was replacing the 36081 with a flat white. I do not have the FS number for it. The Flipper scheme replaced the 34092 with 36375 light ghost grey and 34102 with 36270 medium grey.

I have the actual camo pattern too. I will scan it and drop you in an e-mail. Have fun painting it.

Andrew

Thanks Andrew. Appreciate the help man.
No need to send the pattern. I already have it.
Yeah, it should be fun. Painting is not my strong point.
Thanks again.........Doug
