I was wondering what other ppl use??
I've bought the fields fuel ever since I have been flying but am starting to wonder.....
Does anyone else here just bring one type of fuel to fly all thier 2 strokes??

To be honest I dont even know what nitro/oil content it is or anything, and now that I'm getting back into the hobby I'm wondering if I should get better fuel for better performance for my engines.....

I use only an 80/20 all castor in my Rossi 45, Enya 60/80X and SC 1.08 because I'm only a sport flyer and don't need the last few revs. Personally I feel if you need high nitro then the engine is marginal for the model anyway :)

It might be a good idea to find out exactly what's in your field's fuel. Maybe it's OK and maybe it's mixed by someone who doesn't believe in having enough oil. And "enough" to me is 20% minimum with at least half castor.

I use CP 15% in ALL my planes and heli's; except my X-cell; which I use CP30%. I have also used WildCat #109, which is 15% also. The only difference I can tell between the two fuels is the smell. WildCat has a perfume type smell.

Nothing but Omega 10% for me.
My engines don't stay clean as long as folks who run CP or other synthetics,
but It works for me, I'm used to tuning with it, and the castor is good for the engines.

Everyone's got their favorites, though... keep reading ;)

I found out today that our fuel is 10% nitro and 18% oil....
is that pretty good? All I do is sport fly, no competition or anything...

It should be fine for most engines... though some will specify more or less oil.

All things considered, it's probably best to go with manufacturer's recommendations,
but I'd bet you'll be fine with the fuel you're using, for normal sport flying.

It should be OK if you're reasonably careful not to run peaked out, keep it on the rich side. The worst that can happen is losing muffler pressure because that's an instant VERY lean run. You might consider buying some castor to add to it though.

I've been using Wildcat 2/4 cycle fuel for my planes... Works well.. I do however use 30% Wildcat fuel for heli's and O'Donnel 20% fuel for my cars. For planes though, that 2/4 cycle fuel seems to do well for me though...

I am a die hard user of byron's premium racing fuel for all my 2 and 4 strokes. It is a 15/20 mix with castor/synthetic. I have never had any kind of problems from my engines with this stuff.

It does become a pain but I use multiple fuels selected for the particular engine. 10% -18% castor blend for 2 strokes in general. 15 and 25% nitro all synth for 4 strokes and reg gasoline for the gas engines. Several dave brown pour and pumps make it easy to keep ready. All wildcat fuels on the glow. different engines running different planes in different ways need different fuels IMO, but of course they dont HAVE to have them

I have been using 10 percent nitro fuel for 30 years without problems. Byrons, omega, cool power etc. Used in both 2 and four stokes and just retired an OS120 after 22 years of use. never had anything but valve adjustments in all that time. cam gear finally wore out.

With the exception of our Gas burners, we use Wildcat 15% in all the small engines, (up to 1.20) Good performance and no ill effects.
