I recently started to resurect an old Goldburg Electra for my 14 year old to learn to fly on. I had previously used an old Futaba Conquest 4 channel and it was fine on the Robbe 620 BEC. I have siince sold that unit and was planning on using an old Futaba Gold case 6 channel. When I install it, the servos work OK but the throttle is inactive. If you plug and unplug the BEC reciever connect for the throttle, the motor will run for several seconds and stop. Just for laughs I connected my JR8103 and a reciever to the throttle connector and the throttle action was as normal. What am I missing here? Is there possibly a difference in Futaba transmitters on the the throttle side? I wouldn't expect so but this is weird! I also tried to reverse the servo on throttle. Interestingly I found that if I plugged the throttle connector from the BEC into channel 7, I had throttle control using the thumbwheel switch for aux channel. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Throttle channel,#3 on Futaba Needs to be reversed to work. Also set idle trim as low as it will go in order to arm the ESC on many speed controls.

Thanks flypaper but I found that channel 2 on my 127 rec is throttle and I have reversed it as well as pulled the trim all the way down. I find it very curious that my JR seems to work fine. As mentioned earlier, the old Futaba conquest 4 channel worked fine also. Oh well I got a new battery at the Wram show yesterday and I will change connectors and give that a try tonight.

Well... That's a pretty old transmitter. Things may have been different back when that was new. A modern Futaba would work as flypaper2 described, with the throttle on 3, and the channel reversed.

Actually, that may be a Mode 1 transmitter that someone moved the throttle ratchet on. I'm betting the "up/down" stick on the right controls channel 3, right? Shouldn't matter, though.

Maybe the pulse width is different on the older tranny?
