Please need help.
Extreme servo chatter and erratic behavior.

I just completed my model (the modeltec magic) and was moving to the next step of setting up the electronics.

The receiver RCD 3800 is one that I am unfamiliar with. The channels are also in different locations then I am used to. I believe the one I really wanted was the RCD 3500

The ones I have in my previous planes are all RCD 3500's

Ok here's whats going on. I made sure the jumper loop was located in its proper location. I then connected up the throttle servo to channel 1 which should be for ailerons I then connected the rudder to channel 2 which should be channel 4. I then made the attempt to connect the elevator using the 4 remainder channels but no matter what channel I plugged into I got no response except when I moved the elevator stick to its most furtherest position toward the bottom of the radio I got nothing but chatter through all servos. When I barley tap on the transmitter antenna (hitec eclipse) I got nothing but tremendous chatter through out all servos.

I tried removing the jumper loop located on the receiver and got no response from the transmitter so I replaced the jumper loop

The freq number I am using is number 11. I have two other planes both using the RVD 3500 on freq 11 and am not having any problems at all with them.

The receiver and crystal were just purchased via online. I am thinking the vendor may have sent me the wrong receiver. *shrugs*

Thanks
Randy

Ok I'm past my panic attack I discovered the problem. I had placed the jumper back in the wrong position.

Well I had purchased the Hitec Supreme online and Servo City had sent me the RCD 3800 instead of the 3500. The 3800 is designed for for all four of the radio manufactures. Airtronics, JR, Futaba and Hitec. There is a jumper that houses the very fist port of the receiver that which is placed for the manufacturer you are using. I was not familiar with this.

One draw back I see so far with this receiver is that although it states 7 channels you actually only get 6 channels.

Anyway I have figured out the problem, it was the jumper placement I made the correction and placed it back solving the problem.
