For all you Gee Bee fans, if you love the plane and wouldn't mind a park-flyer version of it, there's a beautiful new 40" Gee Bee Y model available that runs beautifully on electric.
http://www.greenmodelusa.com/GBY_40.html

It's got a beautifully done cowl and engine (one piece!), spring loaded shocks for all gear, and flies fantastic on a common 3S 2100 mah lipo or even 1320 mah lipo in a light setup. I just built the black/yellow version and it flies like a dream and looks incredible. They also have the Red/White and Black/Red versions available.

There's a build thread here. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=697325

Cheers.

Todd

Actually the cowl is fiberglass, and the engine is vacuum form. They are glued together. I popped mine apart to facilitate the cowl installation and trim the flange from the engine.

One interesting thing I noted was the engine detail is trimmed with a laser.

1932 Springfield Hall Bull Dog, designed by Bob Hall after he left the Granville Brothers. Wasn't as successful as expected, and was soon dismantled.

That is a nice looking model you have there. I have the TurnKey RC kit for a smaller electric park flyer, but haven't started it yet.

See post #5 in this thread for a photo of Rob Caso's prototype for the kit.
