I ran my new ST on the bench yesterday. Ran about 6oz of fuel following run in procedure described in the instructions. Engine ran fine and was producing lots of smoke. While I was playing with the throttle, pinching the fuel line, etc. the throttle barrel guide screw vibrated loose and, of course, the throttle barrel became dis-oriented. I set everything right, now the engine has gone berserk! It runs lean and is not responsive to needle adjustment. I changed plug(os A5 and os F), new fuel line, and checked for foaming. Nothing helps. Now engine refuses to start. and compression seems low. Suggestions?
DAY 2
Took the carb off and fiddled with spray bar, throttle barrel, and blew through the whole thing.
Seems to run o.k., but a little lean on the idle, which I can fix.
It likes the A-5 plug. I notice some leakage around the plug base, even though it's tight.
There is a little sepege from the thrust washer. Does this mean the bearing is toast?. It feels o.k.

Rolls,

Usually, SuperTigre engines tend to be too lean if the idle needle's too lean. It can be turned-in enough to affect the high-speed fuel flow.

Sometimes there can be some stuff in the spraybar that blocks fuel flow. Blowing through the carb won't remove it. You have to remove the needle and then remove the spraybar from the carb body. Run a small wire through the spraybar to remove any debris. We've sometimes seen small bits of brass from the machining process inside the spraybar, and this tiny bit of trash can drive you nuts.

Please see my thread on getting the carburetor set up.

About six weeks ago I began breaking in my ST G51 engine and after about 40 mins of bench running the engine made good power, had a nice idle and transitioned through the range and had very good great compression using Cool Power 5% fuel.

It was put away until the plane it was intended for was finished. Now taking it of of storage it has very little compression, not enough to even hand start by flipping. What is wrong with this engine.

On the st90 be sure the opening on the spray bar is turned toward the opening in the carberator and not away from it. Down

On the st 51 i always use omega 10% but as far as it turning easy like no compression this sometimes happens check all bolts, then start with a electric starter it will pick up compression once you get some fuel running through it
