Euclid,

No apology required. This isn't MY thread, it belongs to any and all who are looking at, or considering one of the new 1.20 Edges. I pretty much believe that a very large percentage of the people in the W/H forum are here to help as well as learn, so take and give what you can. We look forward to ALL your input.

Thanks,
Pat

Silversurfer,

Here is a pic of my ST2300 with header.

Greg.

Glad to hear that you've choosen the ST2300 as I've got one NIB. I have a Karl Mueller header, but no canister or pipe yet. Do you think it possible to use either in the 1.20 Edge?

I can't say with any certainty, but it looks that in a horizontally mounted position the header could well run right into the bottom of the engine mounting box and line up pretty well with the center of the fuel tank. In an upright or inverted position it could well run into the sides of the box and be above the fuel tank, but still inside the fuse.

Like I said, that's not for certain, tho. I'll be able to provide better info as soon as the engine is hung.

Pat

Why are you messing around with a header? That engine will have enough power to hover two of those planes. Just stick a Bisson side mount Pitts on it and be done with it.

Well, good question. But all I can say is use what you have...

I originally bought that motor and header/canister for a pattern plane. I've decided to go another route for the power plant. However, a plane that can use this $120 motor (from Tower with discounts), would be a very economical. And, with glow engines, the use of the Kyrbonite (sp?) servos would also be a good choice.

After I get over the initial excitement of flying my 260, I'm eyeing the 1.20 edge for a keep in the back of the car kind of plane <grin>.

Greg.

I'll see what I can do, but at the moment for a guess it looks to be in the 6 pound and under class. I think well under.

I'm currently looking for a new Edge. Well, put it to you this way: I'm an intermediate pilot who just graduated out of a Somethin Extra and I'm ready for more, meaning an Edge. I just bought a Seagull Edge and put a Super Tigre 90 in it and I was extremely disappointed in the plane. Now I'm looking for something better to put my ST 90 into. I ordered an Aeroworks Edge, but I'm seriously taking a look at this Wild Hare version. How do you think the ST 90 will perform in it? How will the plane compare with the Aeroworks version? Will it be a good plane for a beginner aerobat like myself? Let me know how the thing flies SiverSurfer. You're a grouch and a dog bro, but still a good friend .

Thanks Matt Just because you fly at Turlock now...

We should have it in the air by the end of the week or so, weather permitting. My personal schedule says it needs to get in the air very soon. IMO, I think the 90 would fly it just fine for someone that was not quite ready to hover and torque roll yet. It has the appearance of a plane the would be well suited to develop an intermediate flyers skills and advance them to and through the point of some serious 3D if that person wanted to go that route.

As the flyers' skills improved to the point that they became comfortable and proficient in standard aerobatics, changing out the engine to one with more power would open new and exciting doors for the owner without having to step up in aircarft designs or size.

And Matt, I'm only grumpy when I'm at work and in a hurry You didn't waste any time getting to the dinner table yourself, ya know

I want to know how much it weighs when everything's all together. I'd think it'd be a bit more than 6 lbs with that 73" wingspan. I want a full report when you guys fly it. I hope it doesn't rain this weekend. You're still a dog Pat...
