ORIGINAL: X-spec HI! PilotSmith, The pictures shown below is what I 'm going to install, the 1st picture show is the SF(Super Flying Model) product from Taiwan and the picture is the brashless motor from GS BL B-20-40-7 this is a 2 pole motor. Here 's the website from my local hobby shop that bring in is product. The motor spec is size: 20 X 40mm, Turns :7, KV3800rpm/v, V:6-20v, Amp 25A. http://www.jethobby.com.sg/cgi-bin/ezsite/prod/manager.cgi?action=show&pid=180&cid=20&idx=11 X-spec thanks. Hi X-Spec, You should probably post your question on the main electric jet page as this is my first EDF so I don't know if I can give you any good answers but here a few things that come to mind. The specs on your motor are: Size: 20x40mm Turns: 7 Shaft: 3mm Weight: 60g KV: 3800rpm/v V: 6-20v Amp: 25A. I know nothing about your motor. What Fan are you using with it? If you give me the specs on your airplane and fan, I can try to enter the data into MotoCalc to see if that gives anything of use. As far as LiPo batteries, do not get a battery that will be running at it's full C limit. If your application uses 24A and you get a 10C 2400 LiPo it will work but your battery will get hot and wear out fast if you use it regularly at 10C capacity. So get a battery that has more capacity than you need as you will get longer flight time and your battery will give you more charge cycles. PolyQuest has some 12-16C rated batteries like this one that probably would be good for a 25amp application: http://www.aircraft-world.com/shopexd.asp?id=2684 About $85 for a 3 cell good up to 31amp continuous or if you want to save weight for $70 you can get a 2200 3s pack good up to 26 amps continuous like this one http://www.aircraft-world.com/shopexd.asp?id=2680 . Good luck!
