Just need a little help here if poss.
I built my astra nitro car now from de-agostini and it runs fine so i think that i have sorted it out to some degree.
The thing that troubles me is when i start the car obviously the engine is running which in turns from the cog on the engine turning the the cog to the drive turns also as they are joined, consequently turning the wheels
Is this car once idleing supposed to NOT go anywhere where as when i start it i put it down and away it goes is this right?
if i apply the brake then the car cuts out as the wheels dont turn which stops the drive so it stalls.
May be this is right i`m not sure so any help and info in this matter is appreciated, if this is not right what the hell have i done wrong as i have read through the issuesand cannot see what i have done wrong if anything.
Just seems strange you cant put it down on the floor and let it idle
Big thx in advance

hello guys, watch out because the car is not very strong, its a very cheap car, here in the netherlands ive seen the car new in the rc shop for 99 euros .i paid 600 euro from deagostini.
i have to send back my motor because the pullstarter is broken already.
every time i drive the car something goes broken.BE CAREFULL.

hi havent benn on for a while.
mine is also buggered up for the time being as the rear diff has churned itself up and jammed itself. it was ok but when i drove it only the front wheels span and the rear wheels span freely, so it was only 2WD. i thought it might get worse and i needed to re - grease the front and rear diffs anyway, so i took the car apart to inspect the damage.
i realised the conical gear has worn thin and shards of it came off. the screws that were holding on before i drove it have dissapeared (worn away) and now i need to find some new screws and a new conical gear!

apart from that it has been running great and i have had crowds watching me at times! it goes relatively fast and going up my road at full throttle with the slick tyres it always loses control, ive flipped it when hitting the curb on several occxasions but apart from the above, no other damage, touch - wood.

hi

i'am from the netherlands

we almost finised the car. We are at number 58. So another 12 weeks and it's all finised

It's al lot cheaper when you buy it in store but i doesn't care me.

We pay about 10 euro's a week X72 so the complete car without sender/receiver will cost 720 euro

I am still happy wit it.

I was wondering what your top speed is. Mine reached only about 40 kmh (25 mines/hour). I already try to update my drivetrain with other bearings etc

here some pics

and here my daily ride

Take off the clutch bell and make sure the clutch spring hasn't come off, sound like the lcutch is engaging to early, thats also why it stalls, as the spring wont be pulling the shoe back it locks with ure clutch bell and stalls it.

UPDATE:

Running fine now, two speed gearboax makes it pelt up and down the road. replaced the diff pinions with hardened steel, and packed it with loads of grease, cars fully ball raced also, ruined one of the chassis so now using chassis number 2 with counter sunk screws still gotta paint up the porsche body shell.
