Please email the pdf file to me. I have two boys who are interested in a summer scratch build project. The Ugly Stick would be a perfect choice. Thank you, Tom.

Hello,
I recently received a fuselage and wing that was started and was told it was an ugly stik. If you have plans or know where I can get them please sent them to me or direct me towards them.

Here is the original magazine cover before RCM...

That's my uncle George Walker on the cover of Grid Leaks, holding the model he built for Phil Kraft. I have a copy of that issue somewhere.

Finally flew mine last weekend. Smashed my RCM Trainer that I used for a fun flyer Darn IT!

Flies great, the Super Tiger 60 Blue head ABC ring is more than enough power. Turned out nose heavy so have to add weight in the tail but no big thing.

Great to have an Ugly Stick again, this must be my fourth or fifth.

Hi Ugly-Stick-Fans

I would appreciate also a plan as pdf. email address is christoph@ticino.com

I downloaded somewhere (can't remember) the plans for an ugly stick 40 in CAD format. Link was somewhere here or
on rcgroups.
I printed out the plan (it was in .vlm and .dxf format) on draftboard and printed it out tiled to a3.
Now my question: is it right that the root rib is 30 cm which is around 12 inches ? The span would be around 60". I printed it
out in scale 1:1.... but it seems big to me...

Can anyone help ?

Best regards from Geneva

Chris

Larry,

Had at least three of them. The Jenson plans show 4 ¾” from the leading edge. But I found to get it to spin well it needs to be back further.

Hey, since this Stik discussion is now on two pages, how about posting your Stik Piks? (Sorry, I couldn't resist that one)

Hi CCRC1,

I too built an ugly stick in about 84, powered by an ST G60 bluehead and later with a pipe too! Hankpajari, does this seem a coincidence?

Anyway, the fuselage is long destroyed but I think I can probably save the wing still. CCRC1, I'd be most thankful if you sent me the PDF too. henrik.stenstrom@bigpond.com

Good news,
I have the above image of the original plans in a .pdf file. I took it to my local blueprint copier and he printed it out and was able to enlarge it using the scale drawn on the plan. He got it to within 1/32". Close enough for a Stik!
If anybody would like the .pdf file let me know and I can e-mail it to you.
Grid Leaks Plan Service is long out of business so I don't know any other way to get an original copy.

Just noticed that Win. Explorer again mangled my email address..so am resending.
Please? I've had to leave the .com off the addy as it did it again..

Hi CCRC1 !

I just noticed your home town there...

I spent several years stationed there in the late 50's Charlie Battery 3rd Missile Batt. 362 Arty.. Waldorf, Maryland. That does bring back Memories these days.

Am Sure that Waldorf has changed since then though. Least I hope it has.

If you would please forward a copy of the pdf. on the stick. Please?
I need a good work horse again..my last lasted for 15 yrs..and was well oil soaked
and falling apart when it met its demise.

Thank You in advance.
