HI, I'm using a os91 2 stroker with 13x8, it flys fine. But I have a 12x12 and tacked it at 10,000 rpms but havent flowen it yet with this prop. I dont think its to much but I dont want to snap the wings off of it. What is the fastest speed recorded for the hargar 9 p40? thanks for the info.

Well it's over with mine . Major engine problem caused sudden dead stick without any chance to recuperate.

This was my all time favorite war bird in the fleet.

Next project: H9 P-47 60 with the Zenoah G-20 Engine.

a sad day indeed, I was flying mine today and am really starting to get it dialed in.
the 3 blade prop I am running really hauls it around less throttle faster speeds

Isn't it the canopy on the corsair that causes that wiggle? Sorry, never heard of it on the P-40 but I don't know the history that well. What engine and how fast are you going? Maybe you are going too fast...haha.

mine does get a little wiggle when I get going on a full throttle speed pass the rudder is pretty large and the control horns are not what I would call super stiff either.
what I meant by "less throttle faster speed" is with the 14/9 3 blade prop, my P-40 flys much faster at half throttle, than when I had a 14" 2 blade on it at 3/4 throttle.
this plane doesn't seem to need to go fast to fly great its so light, when I punch the gas it really takes off and seems to prefer to fly at 1/2 to2/3 throttle, at least mine does.
a shot from memorial day, nobody at the field but me and a couple of birds

Mine wiggles (or fishtails) too. Its pretty light at 7lbs 10oz. It starts its fishtailing about mid throttle on up to full throttle. Linkage is rock solid stiff (4-40 steel rod in tube). Dont have any idea either why it fishtails.
