Here is where you will find a vast selection of the sizes that are rare in most shops.

I've got a black one for sale - aluminum back plate and plastic spinner. You have to cut it.

Chesie

Its there you have to push the prop list button and scroll down past the 14 inch props, Its model #LP14070 just checked agine. This is not a real unsual size and you got it locally, thats fine. Best when looking for the unusual is to call they even have sizes not on that long list (well over 300).

Dubro has three bladed plastic spinners that work and have starting slots but frequently require some dremal work. Of course TruSpin will provide custom fitted spinners for a price.

I just started building mine. When I removed the retracts to beef up the area, the bellcrank bolts were only finger tight. The first landing would have been really ugly.

Hey PJ:

Man come Oct I am going be lost in a sea of Curtiss racers! Anyway Got Yippee styling real nice and even attended two flyins so far. When it rains, it pours. I keep finding finding partially completed projects leaning on my doorstep. Anyway another Wing thirty eight was found leaning on the door that somebody left, it was sorta messed up but I think I can get her done in time for maybe a backup or maybe silver and bronze. Will probablty do this one identical to Yippee only overall blue but marked as Yuppee!

Oh Man Hope you Curtiss guys don,t hang me in effigy.

John

Guessing that you mean nose heavy. Where is the battery can you get it aft of the wing underneath the pushrods?

Ok please forgive me and understand that I do not have this airplane but I am confused poster #70 says he's flying with the CG at 33/4 and #71 is flying at 3 1/2. If they are reasonably close then if you checked at 3 then the tail would drop like a rock. The next question would have to be what exactly is the target CG suggested by the manual?

Sounds as though then that they are flying around the rear most limits and its always better to shoot initially for the suggested CG like you are doing. I am making the assumption you are inverting the model on your CG machine for the check. Just another thought is it possible that figure is what is intended with the gear down and you are balancing with the gear retracted as that will make quiet a difference.

With all that straightened out and its still tailheavy, if it is not already there the battery should be moved into the tank compartment, I,d be willing to bet it can be fitted under the tank. Only then would I start to add weight on the firewall under the engine where you could find room.

John
