Status: offline 		no, rdy12! dont leave! the more the merrier! we´re about to start a project, we're begginning with a custom mixer pic12f-based for a coaxial heli hughes is working with. The thing is, the components hughes has are not well suited for the job, so we are trying to do our own and tweak them to see if they are better. If youd like to participate, like to program, love to crash helis, or anything alike, please do participate! BTW, i apologyse, hughes and JT, ive disappeared a while.... tomorrow ill have my last-before-thesis exam, ive been preparing that... but after tuesday all come back with news.

Status: offline 		Well, I'm befuddled by the the terminology, but considering the fact that I'm bored, I'll stick around Now that the coaxial heli issue is moving on to a different thread, let's get back to the piece of plastic that flys our birds. In case it hasn't been covered or if no one has noticed, the Tx itself is actually set up as an airplane radio with no heli hardwiring. The rx does that. I've done some work on this thing myself and found that it can fly a GWS Slow Stick with the stock Rx that it comes with just fine. Question: Is this the same with the 6ch CP Tx or does it have some heli programming?Also, please speak in a more widespread language because all I know is English and a bit of Espanol. Yo quiero un hamberguesa y no me gusta juevos.

Yes, the Tx is a normal Tx, at least, the walkera #4 stock has. It has, however, some particularities, for example, it transmits 9 channels, with 4 active and the other 5 stuck in minimum. Also, the PPM in not entirely standard, its a bit "special", some receivers may not woak with it. But, the 4 active channels dont have any mixing, any processing, or anything at all. Correspond exactly with the movement of the stick.
All the magic is done in the receiver: demodulation, mixing, gyro, ESC (wich, incidentally, is the way i think everything should be, so you have just one ontroller for everything...)... The thing is, for example for a walkera #4, its hard to find a standard 9 channel PPM transmitter... so you cant use any transmitter with the receiver.

Would this have anything to do with the Zhen Hua 5 byte protocol it uses? I think some old Futaba radios used to use it.

Status: offline 		No, i dont think thats it. As far as i have seen, this Zen Hua is a protocol for transmitting data to PC when using for simulating, for example. I was referring to the widht of the pulses walkera uses, they are different from standard PPM, although not very different... thats why some receivers work, and some others dont.
On the other side, this 5 byte protocol is a form of PCM. If a transmitter is transmitting PCM, it will not work with a PPM receiver, and vice-versa. I have not found a single person having a DF#4 and a PCM transmitter... if you know someone, please, invite him here, we can all learn from it.

Status: offline 		Interesting to compare with the Esky - the 4 channel 0404 PPM transmitter does no processing at alll and can be used to fly planes and other stuff. Its the one used for the Lama, comanche and Robins coax series. All the clever bits are done in the receiver - which is the famous 4-in-1.

On the CCCPM helis, like the Honeybee CP, King 2 and Belt CP, which all use a 6 channel PPM transmitter, all the processing is done in the transmitter so they cant be used for much else. Even the one for the CP (0706) cant be used for the King 2 (0706A). However, the reciver is the standard one which does no special processing.

So either way, the only way to have a single radio for all helis is to have a programmable one - not the cheapest solution initially but I now buy ARF models so that will slowly pay for itself.

Status: offline 		Those parts are the MOSFETs The full part number is IRF7413. You can get them at http://www.digikey.com or other online electronics parts suppliers. You can sometimes find them on ebay as well.

Status: offline 		I have similar problem, but the MOS-Fet is not burned. My 4in1 reciever is working, but olny in a short distance, I think there must be problem in the sender, I replaced the BF139, but still works only 5m, and then..no signal..any solution? please...

Status: offline 		have you tried changing Xtals? Had it any crash? Or have you dropped the transmitter?
I had the same problem, but it was because i burned it, and solved it replacing the TA31136... not suitable for someone with not many electronic skills.

Status: offline 		I tried another Xtals, but nothing changed. The motor drive works correctly, but it still loses signal after few meters. I wish there was some datasheet or the transmitter/reciever circuit description..

Great thread! I am desperately looking for the spreadsheet of the gyro, the text engraved on just says [MB] 529 and gooole doesn't find any component with such a description... I am attaching the picture of the whole board just in case it helps identify the gyro somehow.

could anyone help me?
