I just found this forum at R/C Universe. Glad to see there's a place for the tankers to hang out.

I'm one of the 1:6 scale paintball tank builder/battlers. One of our battles last year was filmed for the Outdoor Channel's Inside R/C show. It's the season opener and is airing tonight at 5:00pm eastern. It's channel 606 on Direct TV.

No..........carnt stand that show.........so false IMO

The RC part of it is very good but to watch them beat the **** out of each other just dont seem right.

I agree, robot wars is SOOO annoying, they just flash it up way to much. It could really be hilarious but they insist on all the drama.

$hit I dont get ch 606

Anywhere else it can be seen Steve?

I don't have Direct TV at all so I can't even watch my debut as a TV star! A couple of the members will be making copies of the show. Once we figure out the distribution issues it will be on the rctankcombat.com website.

My local PBS stopped replaying RobotWars a couple of years ago. I guess it's gone downhill.

Would love to see that. You guys might consider going to www.streamload.com to host the movie. It works excellent and you can get 10,000MB per month for 10 bucks.

Steve,
This is Kurt G from the rctankcombat.com list....Hope you guys get the video put together...The Bon Voyage Battle CD was great...I still watch it for inspiration to keep building my West Coast Comet (WCC) LOL....John P. keeps me going on it....Glad you told us about this site...It's great to see more tankers....
For introduction I am building a Comet 1/6 scale for combat with a paintball marker for the gun.... Steve is a vet at this...

A full function RC combat paintball tank will run around $1000 to $1500. A tank destroyer will be less. Unlike a Tamiya model you don't have to lay out a big wad of cash to get started. You can scrounge or buy one piece at a time if you like. The paintball markers most people are using are the entry level Spyder semi-auto models or their clones. You can find those for under $50 at Walmart.

ok thank you also has anyone had any infantry soldiers yet also what do you or most of you use for tracks

edit: heres some tank designs im really liking

http://tanxheaven.com/cheetah/cheetahpic.htm
http://tanxheaven.com/conquerorarv/conquerorarv.htm
http://tanxheaven.com/jpk-90/jpk-90.htm

those are the 3 tanks i like quite a bit

which of those would be the best for takin to the combat and which would prolly be the cheapest

the jagd panzer is my favorite design but how effective would it be it is very low and would be hard to hit but it looks like it has a fixed turret

The JagD Panzer would be the cheapest and easest to build due to no turret. Check out the http://www.rctankcombat.com site for any technical questions. Look in the "How To" section and check out the mailing list archives. There's tons of info for the new tank builder.
