Status: offline 		I don't see any advertisements for the 1/5 scale corsair anymore (espicially through Tower). Has Topflite discontinued the large scale version?

Status: offline 		Yes, it's been discontinued. You can still get the accessories for it however.

Status: offline 		I would hazard to guess that sales got the better of it. A lot of competition with Ziroli or Byron I would suppose. I have seen the plane fly, and it is very impressive. I have one that I am getting ready to finish soon, bought it after seeing one fly one day. The building aspect probably kills sales when compared to fiberglass competitors. I know that the reviews of the flight characteristics were all positive. I do wonder however how many kits you have to sell to make a hugely popular plane? Say the Sig Kadet for example, How many of these have sold since their inception, 10,000??? Whatever the reason, it seems like the value of my plane might have gone up since the production run.

Status: offline 		I got told that GP stopped production of their 'giant scale' P-51B Mustang when it took longer than they wanted to sell the first run of 1000 kits. Although how realistic anticipated sales in excess of 1000 might be, I don't know. We get embedded in our pastimes and don't always have an external perspective that not too many folks do what we do.

Perhaps the Giant Scale Corsair suffered a similar fate.
