Hi everyone!! I have been registered for a little while but lurking even longer. I just bought a Yok YR4 to drift with, I read everything a search came up with (before someone screams it ). Several people said the stock 540 or a 23-27 turn motor would be a great one to start with as they have better tourqe. But do they really work that well in a 4wd car?? and will they hold up with high milliamp batteries?? BTW anyone have any places to get hop up parts for this thing??????
Thanks in advance guys!!!

Welcome! The 27T stock motors are ideal, and don't worry about the power because it'll still get you to about 15-20MPH. The only better way to go with electric motor set-ups is a brushless motor and speed control like a novak ( for price and features sake ) and set it to the 'stock class' profile. As far as hop-ups go for the chassis I can recommend generic items such as light weight turnbuckles and cvd's. If you're looking to add some tires or accessories check out Drift Specialties.

cssdev, i really wish u would stop telling everyone to use their stock motors, if u have some spar cash BUY ONE ASAP ! u can drift with a stock (tincan) motor, but its got crap torque and top end compared to a decent mod motor. I highly recomend a Team Atlas 11t or 13t. THEY ROCK. without drift tires on they go so fast, and with them they give u insane spinnage. just do watch out, they heat thing up, i melted all my wires from my motor, and to my esc

have fun dude........drifting is awesome

Woop-d-fn-doo... Who wants to spin their tires and wear them out faster? Drifting is definitely not about top end speed, especially with ABS tires or PVC tires, because you have next to no traction and the most speed you'll get is about 5-10mph IF you manage the throttle to get there. Have fun melting your tires and leave the recommendations to the people who know what they're talking about.
