The best overall plane is the Hanger 9 Aresti. Quality of building and covering (in UltraCoat) and really smooth flight performance. I have looked at other offerings that came short in the building / covering and flying arenas. One shed the retracts on the 3rd flight after a good landing. Not much to support the gear. The Aresti reminds me of a scaled down version of the Gator Giles 2 meter pattern plane.

Best regards,

I had the 2nd Eurokit "Snap 45" in North America, and am still having a blast with it 3 years later! Its not an ARF but a really fast building "prebuilt" kit, ie, pre sheeted foam wing, prebuilt foam and balsa/ply fuse with a fiberglass belly.

Check out their website

http://www.eurokitplane.com/

And see the Snap 45. It is a very very nice handling airplane, and capable of any manouver. I built mine with a piped Rossi but any .46 will do.

If you like retract planes, just got an E-mail from Hobby people.

Global Avance 46 looks good. it has blasa covered foam wings. Retract installed, 11 inch prop?

I thought about H9 Aresti, GP Venus, Kyosho Majestic for YS 63 as a Winter plane with fixed gear.

All the above planes are ARF. Snap 45 looked very nice with minimal building. There is a building instruction on the web too.

Lark 70 ARF from Giantscale.com? I only heard about Swallow (larger size cousin of Lark) flying very good.
Just choose one that you like the most and go for it.

OS 46 will have enough power to go through sportman pattern. If the airframs weight low, you maybe able to go for Intermediate too.

However, if you go to intermediate, most of people fly above 60 size planes. In NW, I am one of the two Intermediate flying 91AC. My friend flies with OS 91FX. All others fly 120 minimum.
Good Luck.
