Test flew with OS 160As reported, Minimum Vertical. Just purchased a Moki 2.10, will try this. Any suggestions???WOODIE

You could also try a Mentz 20x8 which is what I use on my 2.10. Pretty much unlimited vertical, just expensive if you nudge the runway on landing...

This plane has the same exact specs as the aeroworks 35cc extras. What are your thoughts on that?

I thought they saw how many Horizon were selling and decided to do a 35cc size plane too!

I have a 260 27% and have a problem with my rudder wanting to make the plane do a slow waggle in straight and level flight at 3/4 throttle or faster. It's not as fast as a flutter more like 2 oscillations per second or so. I am running a 4.8 V batt with HiTech 5645MG servos and have the servo in the tail for the rudder. It will hold a high alpha knife edge without fading or will do a full speed rudder turn no problem. The servo seems strong enough but it appears to be too loose while centered.

What are possible causes for this? Would a larger more powerful servo help? The linkage seems as tight as anyone elses I've checked.

I also have heard about a 6V system for radio/servos being better than a 4.8V. I assume this will just make the servos faster and stronger. Are there any other changes that need to be made to switch to 6V?

I appreciate any help that is given.

IMHO the 5645 is not robust enough for the rudder, and also that particular servo has a little too much slop at center. And once the oscillation starts, 4.8 volts doesn't have enough power to hold it. I had a big problem with elevator and aileron flutter on a AW Yak (50cc) with these servos, completely solved by using 5955's.

So if the linkage is otherwise solid and tight, I would wager that going to 6 volts and using a 5955 (or something with a similar high torque rating) would solve the problem. Recently 5955's were on sale at TBM for $89, which is a very good price (making room for the 7955!). The 5955's have very little slop at center.

I don't know your brand of Rx, but it should be able to handle 6 volts with no problem. However, if you use a Li-Ion or LiPo you will need a voltage regulator between the switch and the Rx. SmartFly regs are pretty good.

I have a Spektrum DX7 with AR7200 receiver. I'll check the book to see if it mentions about voltage limitations. I just put in what the hobby shop guy suggested. I know a guy that had a 80 oz/in servo in the rudder like the instructions say and it wouldn't hold a knife edge it just melted out as the servo got soft but he never had a waggle like mine.

Thanks for the info. I was leaning towards a higher end servo anyway.

I now have another question after reading about these HiTech 5955 servos. I see it says they are programmable. Do I need to get a programmer to work with one of these?

A programmer is not required for use. My plane is almost full of programmable servos and I do not even have a programmer.

I bought one of these planes ready to fly. It had Hitech 645's all around. I had the rudder wag you described. I am running 6.0 volts. I switched to the 5645 on the rudder and it helped a lot. I still notice a small wag here and there.

The 5955TG is a better solution for the rudder as cmoulder has recommended. If you're gonne go cheap the servos aren't where you should do it.

What do you think about using the new HiTec HS 7955-TG servo on the rudder? I see TBM has them going for $99 and free shipping and the 5955 for $95. I'm thinking go for the better one?

the 7955 is the newer version I would get that, they have twice the travel resolution that the 5955 does...

    Thanks for the advice everyone.

I have a 7955 on order from TBM. Should be in on Wednesday, Everyone seems to be out of the 2700 MAH 6V battery packs though?? I assume it will work on my 4.8V battery until I can get a 6V purchased.
