This stuff sure brings back memories. I was a teen when the Tiporare class planes were the rage. My first "real" pattern engine was an OS .61SF! I've still got it and it still runs like a top. I ended up running an extension on the header. Mine was an early MACS pretuned one that was designed for the FSR series before noise issues forced lower rpms. To get it on the pipe with a larger loaded prop required a longer length. If memory serves right, about 2 inches extension on the header. Dirty Birdy, Phoenix, Tipo, - I couldn't wait for the day I could afford a pattern ship. Now I fly an old Piorun Eclipse with a YS .91.
