i about killed my lst ! it hit a curb dead center at full throttle, the damn carb got stuck open. i mean real stuck not a dead servo. i cant move it back to the closed position an i pushed on it pretty hard to try to close it afterr i took it all apart to try to see how bad it was going t o be. i am here talking to take abit of a break befor getting my part list together. i dont even think a failsafe would have helped i think the carb was stuck befor impact. hit so hard flush on the front bumper it broke rear a arms.
anyway off to see how much $ my carb is going to flush for me.
warm weather an no lst for me not for long i hope

might go ahead an upgrade chassis parts while i have it all down.

I'd send the servo back for inspection. You might get a replacement.

Why send it back, he is saying that it wasn't the servo, it was the carb, no point sending the servo.

i just guess ill be doing my chassis change over little sooner.o yea an new carb i guess

ooo picage of the carnage sounds promising, it should be fairly easy to get a carb tho if they wont supply it, since SH makes it and the XTM engines, some parts are interchangable and carbs

Same thing happened to me, I had to hit it with a hammer and a punch to get it to snap back closed. LHS told me it was probably because my servo was trying to pull it too far open and it got wedged. I adjusted teh endpoints on the radio and it has never happened again, so I guess they were probably right?

Just Remember, If your doing that Much work to your truck, Now is a Good Time to Add some Up-Grades, And One of the Best things I have got for my Truck has been the RCscrew Kit, It comes with Lots of Extras, And it makes Working on the Very Easy,( No more Stripped Screws).
Let me know if you need any Links to some Parts, Anyway Have Fun Putting it back together.

If you had a fail-safe in place and realized that you indeed had a run away. Would shuting the radio off help with this?

When the reciever looses signal, when the rx pack goes below a safe voltage, when the Tx batteries become too low, or when interference crosses your radio's path, the failsafe will automaticaly return to a preset position (programmed by you), usually full brake.

It wouldn't have worked in this situation since the servo would have been unable to close the carb since it was stuck so badly.

I didn't think so, but as a newbie, I thought I'd ask. That`s the only way to learn! Right?

Thanks for correcting me!

I take it a full-on braking didn't help much? I think that's a bit of a fault with these trucks, on a car the brakes are always strong enough to overcome the strength of the engine and at least slow the truck down.

Really makes me appreciate our sloping curbs which just send your truck flying into the yard/sidewalk without damage. Good luck rebuilding that thing.
