w8ye, they needed the reducer! My first one wouldn't run with a Pitts muffler, or I should say you could not richen it up enough for normal flying. I decided to come to a meeting of the minds with that stubborn thing, or throw it away, so I put it on my test stand. 15x8 Zinger, 10% Cool Power, and I had added the extra head gasket that came with it (although it already had two in place, so that made three). With the factory muffler it tached about 8500 as I recall. And it would richen up properly. My analysis: the Chinese opened up the carb too much to get power, then it wouldn't suck fuel adequately, so they added an exact clone of my OS 61 FSR mufflers to increase the back pressure and fuel feed. I put the Slimline Pitts back on, and again, it would only run in a high speed two cycle. I added the OS 7D carb which I had, and then it ran well with the Pitts muffler, and tached about 8300, so I lost a little with the smaller carb but gained a lot in user-friendliness. This was in 1974 as I recall, and the engine/plane combo is still in use, a Goldberg Ultimate Bipe.

I bought 3 Magnum engines at the factory in China (less tha 50% US price) 1.20, .80 and .15. They run great. I went back another time and they would not sell me...with cash in hand! which is unusual. I check some hobby shops in ShenZhen and they did not carry them. I think they have a tight agreement with someone.
