JohnMcGowan -> How to repair canopy crack? (12/26/2001 10:56:26 PM)

Hello All! Hope that you had a good holiday. My question is that I have a small split in my topflite hollywood zero canopy at the base of it.It is where the mold of the canopy made the raised area for the 2 halves to meet(if it was a sliding type.) (Did I saw that right?) In other words, if you were sitting in the plane the split is at the back base of the canopy going vertical for about 3/4 of an inch behind you. What can I use to repair this crack without it looking like crap? If I use thin ca, would it fog my canopy?
What do you suggest? Thanks for any replies!!

John, try some liquid cement for plastic models. Just use a small brush to put a drop at the base of the crack and capillary action will do the rest. Hold the parts together tightly for about 20 seconds and you're done. Won't fog the canopy and is quite strong as it "welds" the plastic back together. Good luck, Chad.
