Here's my little Lipo charging box...just for added safety but I still monitor the whole charging process. Never leaves my site when charging. It's made of those electrical boxes I got at hardware store for $4. It's a lot thicker than safety cash boxes.
Anyway here are more pics of my walkera jet ranger.

Thanks for the advice gysgt6414! I'm just not happy with the 3-5 minutes I get out of GE. Makes it hard to figure out what adjustments need to be made to it. I ordered a new tail motor a few days ago b/c of the experiences that I keep reading about on here. Where can you get these cooling units I keep hearing about? If I go to Li-Po I don't want to have to buy motors in bulk and those sound like an good solution. The guy at my local hobby shop was showing me a dual tail motor conversion kit to stop the burnout problem. This guy seems to blow a lot of smoke though, so I don't know whether or not to follow his advice. Anyone have any experiences with those?
Nice setup there Xelltronics (Bird and Charging box!). How much did that charger run you and how do you like that particular one? Does it have auto shut off and all that good stuff?

I can't get mine to work either. I saw a site that said that these cables that come with the # 4 are worthless and won't connect the tx to FMS on the new models. Not sure if this is true. You are supposed to use PPJoy to connect the TX to FMS. I got PPJoy to recognize my TX but I can't get the interface working with FMS. Check out this site. I was looking for another cord that might work with FMS and found this. http://www.milehighwings.com/faq.htm#10 I read on a couple sites that you are better off just buying a "real" simulator that is compatible. On PPJoy I just keep getting an "error 2 opening joystick message" I have tried many things but still can't get it to work. Maybe someone else has some input. Kind of frustrating b/c it does look fun and I am able to use FMS with my keyboard. Still fun but not the same.

Thanks MR4RCinaz. The charger was only $24.99+tax @ Hobby People. It's a pretty good charger for the price, auto-detects 1~3 cell and beeps and aut-shutoff when fully charged. 3 Selectable amps from 250, 500ma & 1A. Also comes with safety reverse polarity and I think also warns when lipo is not good for charging anymore. But after reading all the mishaps involving lipo, I don't leave it alone during charging even when its inside charging box.

    Hi Compro

Most problems are related to serial ports being incorrectly set up.

Try using Hyperterminal on 19200,N81 and see if it detects the transmitter -

    compro,

oops is right, make sure you are using com1 in your PPJoy setup. If com1 is not transmitting, it might be used by another software. My com1 port was reserved by my ActiveSync application for my pocket pc. Com2 was sending but it did not work. (com2 is not working with PPJoy even if it is free!). Check your software or modem for com1 usage. Here are some instructions for hyper terminal testing: http://www.kime.net/directcc/hyperterminal/hypertrm.htm
    Good luck, it's worth it!
