ORIGINAL: GTX SlotCar I probably shouldn't reply to this because it's been a long time since I've used my DF4 4in1 (I switched to Esky so I could use a different Tx), and mine was from a 2005 model and they may have changed slightly. But, here goes anyway. As I recall, on my 2005 model, the adjustment worked for tail gain but was all bunched at one spot of the rotation (as if the pot value was too large). In other words, all the adjustment was within a 5° area. I could disconnect the main motor, fire up the heli and slowly turn the trimmer on the 4in1. At some point, the tail motor would speed up. Once I went past this small point, it slowed right back down again. Very sensitive, but it did work. Again, I haven't done this for over 3 years, so I could be mistaken or the 4in1s could be slightly different now. As I recall (again, I could remember wrong), I didn't have to reset the 4in1 with each small movement, the tail motor speed would change as I turned the trimmer. Anyway, give it a try. There's nothing to lose. My experience with my "late model" Falcon 40 4-in-1 gain control is exactly the same as yours. However, even when I set the gain to give maximum tail motor rpms I can't honestly say that I saw any improvement in tail control (maybe because it was set right to begin with). Perhaps the more important point is that this is NOT a proportional control like that found on the Esky and Eflite 4-in-1's/3-in-1's which will allow you to correct for a heli that is always slowly turning in one direction or the other.
