Thanks, I'll give it a try.

A friend has an identical, newly built 5R that doesn't have this problem. Identical except for the diffs, his 5-7-2 with no rubber washers. Mine 5-7-1 with washers in front and center diffs.

Do not change anything!
Just remove the rubber washers in the planet gears! (not the ones on the outdrives )
Exceptionally in center diff. They act like using thicker oil.

One question....If I put thicker fluid in the rear it seems the rear end would break loose quicker.

It will have less traction, but will be more predictable and controllable.

I took the rubber washers out of the center diff and I changed the rear diff to 3000. I was mistaken in my earlier post, my friend was running 5-7-3 not 5-7-2 with no washers. Totally different car, fixed the problem completely. The rear stayed glued to the track and when it did break loose it was controllable. I haven't got to the washers in the front diff yet, I may just leave them or remove them and try 7000. Steering is excellent especially off power steering. I heard of some people mistakingly removing the outdrive washers and of course all their diff oil comes out the first lap.

anyone use offset hubs on there mugen? just bought a few spares and new engine mount in a cheap package and the guy through it these aswell he said they are 2mm offset wheels hubs.
am i right in thinking the offset simply means there is 2mm extra at each side so your wheel base is wider?

is it worth using them?

thanks adam

that makes sense as i had to dremel a set of hyper 8.5 rims to get them to fit on my mugen last month as they where binding.

so do use think it would be worth putitng them on for this weekends racing the track is rough long and technical grass/mud/astro with good few jumps.

in theory wider wheel base would be better on a rough track for stabilty but would it affect turning.
thanks adam

I don't know, stick them on in practise & see how they go, if you don't like them switch back.

well didnt get racing place was flooded

anyway more on the news just heard from a shop
"Mugen Price Changes

Mugen have recently lowered prices across their whole range of kits, spares and options with reductions of up to 40% and typical reductions of 10-30%.

This is great news for owner's of Mugen kits as spares are now very competitive in price with other popular manufacturers. The kits themselves have also been reduced largely in price and are as competitive as all the current popular brands.

So for those who have dreamed of owning a Mugen can now make it a reality with the huge price cuts."

so do you think the prices lower pricing is here to stay for good so they r more competive in the market or is it just cause thye are ment to be coming out with a Mugen Mbx6 after april may.

That is a brillaint combo but the C6 engine pumps out a lot of powe rin my opion almost to much for a buggy more suited to a truggy.

Hey guys, I'm still debating which buggy to get. Can you guys hang with the 8ights? And is the MBX5 ($319 at A-Main) a MBX5R without all the hopups? I have the MBX5T Standard and the only hopup I really needed was the thread hinge pins. Is the MBX5 about like the 5T Standard as far as options? Thanks!

to go from the MBX5 to the MBX5R you will need a few parts. Carolinas R/C Upgrade also that buggy at Amain is the standard MBX5.

So the Standard MBX5 isn't outdated? Is it still a competitive buggy? It's dated back to 2004. That's back there with the SW Mayhem!

It's cheap though. I can't see paying over $200 more just to have the Prospec. I love my MBX5T Standard.
