Dennis,

As I have always said, if the instructions were followed and you were not satisfied with one of my products I would gladley by it back. This is true here as well. I am sorry the template is off it wasn't when I originally posted it, and I think it must be happening when its being printed somehow. Please feel free to ship it back as is and I will refund your money. I need a DV for myself and this one will do just fine.

Good luck with your wild hares. If they make you happy thats the most important thing.

Here's the one with the template.

Do you think if i would of known it was going to turn out this bad i would of done this to the plane.

I was just going by what the instruction's said

Thanks Chip but its easier said then done. now that the plane is assembled i cant ship it back in the box it came in. i would have to built a crate and ship it grey hound.

Who's going to pay for that?

Lets try not to make this any harder then it has to be. Simply cut the rudder hinges and remove the cowl. At that point it will go right back into the box and there is no need to worry about the cost of a crate. You could then let me know back here in the public forum and I will arrange a pick up from your front door via DHL. That will save the gas it would cost to have to drop it off. Once again sorry for all of these major problems with the DV.

As for the "joke of a firewall design", go up to one of my planes and put your hand on the fuse right behind the engine while at full throttle and take note of what you feel. Then go to any other plane regardless of make that is designed to accomodate the long standoffs and do the same touch test. Once the sting goes away you will realize that the long standoffs cause the engine to transfer a ton more vibration to the airframe and your radio. That is what causes batteries, recievers, servos, and switches to fail regularly. Unfortunately, for the owner a crash is almost certain to happen shortley there after. That is why I held all of my planes on the first run for a month so we could change them to the "Joke of a firewall" because it is simply a much better way to mount a single cylinder motor. Sure it is a terrible inconvience to have to grind a little notch into the firewall for your adjustment, but once that few minutes is behind you it makes for a much better airplane engine relationship.

BTW. When using the template that came with the kit did it print off smaller in size then the firewall actually is by about an 1/8th all the way around. If it did, did you center the template on the firewall or line up the bottom only. This might of been why it was off. Anyway once I get it back , I will check it out and let you know if we find out exactly what the cause of this was. In the meantime guys I have pulled the template from the site, as I want to make sure we get it as perfect as possible to help avoid something like this in the future. However like I have said from the beginning , this will always just be a place to start.

Look forward to hearing back from you on here shortly

Chip

Guys---I now have about 3/4 of a gallon through my Double Vision and this is an AWESOME airplane!!! I went from a 22/10 Mejlik to one of Chip's 22/8 wood props---the performance difference is simply amazing!!! This prop is THE prop for the DA 50. Vertical performance is much improved. The prop is made from an exotic Brazilian wood that resists flex---The color and grain of the wood looks very good and different...But...Performance it what really counts and this prop ROCKS!!!

My buddy liked my Double Vision so much that he purchased a Vison 3D in the NEW color scheme. I got a glance at part of it over the weekend. The new color scheme looks really good!!! The kit will be in my grubby little hands this Tuesday for me to assemble. I'll post some pics of it when it arrives....I can hardly wait.

Keep up the good work Chip!!!!

Kevin

What are those people after. You tel them right they say left, ok left no its right!! It must be right left together? or back and forth. The real planes have mods to be added to it after its production and operation! But I hav't heard any airline requesting Boeing to return its plane or file complaints. There are always reports for improvements, not XXking the man for $600.

I have nothing to do with any of the selling manufacturing of rc, but I thought somepeople have been unfair to chip. Again if we have 2 or 20 unsatisfied customers out of thousands, they can return thier planes to chip and get thier money back and find other products to nag about.

Chip, your plane is GREAT.

havent you got anything better to do than troll through 6 month old mail that was put to rest!

You have your point and said it. Others have theirs and have just as much right to comment.

So don't have ago at other people because you don't like thier views. Have you never heard of customer feed back, product analysis, customer service? Has no-one ever bougth something that wasn't right? I suppose you would just roll over........!!!!! Next time a magazine does a product review and raises an issue, tell the editor you want it sensored and see what they say!

As the saying goes "if you don't like the answer, don't ask the question".

Can this be put to rest where it belongs, please.

PS. My Vision flys great and does everything you could want

After several flights on the CHP Vision,I am more upset with flying other manufacturers overlyclaimed crap over the years. It would be a crime if this plane was discontinued. I still find it hard to believe how well this plane flies. When I go out to the field and immediately start doing things I never was able to do before I forget some of the little problems that most ARFs have.I am very happy that I do not have to build anymore. Chip keep up the good work!

As I said, I am very pleased with the flying ability of my Vision. Floats a dream and does everything you could want.
